that Man Machine is, i think that Radioactive is also as brilliant, with 'ohm sweet ohm' being my personal highlight.
but its all great, so you should probably just buy it all.
Buy them all!
I think the best is Computer world. Man machine is also great!

Trans-Europe Express
or Computer World
i'd say
man machine, if only for the perfection of the robots and the model.
The Man Machine
best overall, but the TEE 'suite' on Trans Europe Express is the best bit of any of their albums
a bit contro but I really love Radioactivity
even though there are a lot of 'random' transient soundbursts (insert smug 'lab reference - one they nicked anyway)
Also Kraftwerk 1 and 2 should have a modest mention - making mechanical music on trad instruments whilst 'Autobahn' is making trad classical arrangements on 'mechanical' instruments.
No one said Electric Cafe - funny that. Man Machine is too clinical, so erm, after all that I have to say TEE (after Radioactivity)

agreed
Man Machine is a very influential album too.
Nah
Man Machine is too easy though a great cover and like all Kraftwerk albums there's an element of contexuality at play when discussing inflence.
sorry I sounded like a right cunt then.
wut? nah you didn't...
Don't worry about it..
How many electronica artists would have a copy of this in their collection, though?
Imagine what music would be like now if Kraftwerk had never formed.
side note off topic: Forward Russia were fucking brilliant on Friday.
YES - but Zappa was doing his bit as well long before Kraftwerk
which is what a lotta peeps don't realise... thus the term 'electronic' music is well, rather overused.. and well, not accurate.. and well, superflous.. in some ways.
Kraftwerk
were doing other things before Autobahn; they decided to compose using home-built synthesisers and drum machines. For them, it was simply different instruments.
Pre-Kraftwerk electronic pop music includes the wonderful 'Popcorn' by Hot Butter.
Music composed and performed using electronic instruments started in thelate nineteenth century/.

Planet Rock!
classic old skool hip-hop electro funk or something.
'Classic'
is an insufficient word for 'Planet Rock'
'Planet Rock' should be in the OED as one of the definitions of 'awesome'.
I have the 12". It is nine minutes of heaven. In 1982, it was as if aliens had landed and showed all the music lovers what they had been missing.

you my friend
can be such an utterly annoying tosser in one post and completely right in another. All in the same thread. But you love that don't you?
