Anybody a big fan of Stereolab?

I read an interview with Wayne Coyne a while back and he was praising the shit out of Emperor Tomato Ketchup, and I was intrigued enough to buy it. I've since decided that I love it immensely

Upon further inspection I see that they have a lot of albums out. Does anybody have a favourite?

Also, their album sleeves look pretty solid throughout. Perhaps I'll buy some posters if I can find them. Although that's largely redundant information

Emperor Tomato Ketchup

is the best.

Mars Audiac Quintet is fantastic too.

As is Dots and Loops.

Actually, all the ones I've heard are fantastic.

Those three records

are the best studio albums but my favourite is a compilation of singles and oddities - Refried Ectoplasm (Switched On Volume Two). Buy that.

Aluminium Tunes is another very very good compilation.

I should also point out

to fans of coloured vinyl that my Refried Ectoplasm is orange. And awesome. I may propose to it later but I think Mrs MEGAtron might be a little bewildered to be replaced by a slab of sunburst allyl. You think?

me too

I've liked all the ones I've heard.

I think Emperor Tomato Ketchup is definitely the best.

Oh em gee

I was thinking of starting a Stereolab thread today after listening to their Miss Modular 12" b-sides. What are the odds?

And now it's a dead thread

Which is why I didn't

but

HOW can no-one care about Stereolab? It isn't fair.

I care!

Stereolab completely rule. So inventive and just doing what they love. Was just listening to Dots and Loops and fell in love with it all over again.

I care too!

I lost interest after Dots and Loops; the next couple of albums were really patchy. However, i thought the Fab Four Suture thing was a bit of a return to form.

Considering the usual toss that gets dribbled about on here,

I am hardly surprised, myself.........

Now that new Muse album, best fucking album EVER, OMG! Now we're talking! I mean, how could 'John Cage Bubblegum' or 'Pop Quiz' compare with the mindblowing might of a generation-defining record like THAT!???

MARS AUDIAC QUINTET

for me - avoid DOTS AND LOOPS - oh dear just leave them alone Sean o Hagan and go and mess up another High Llamas album

'Ketchup' is good but 'Random Transiet Soundbursts (with announcements)' is their best - haven't got anything since Dots and Loops and found them really boring after then but 93-97 I was soppy daft about them - SOPPY SOPPY DAFT

stereolab and hip hop

Stereolab had been getting immense publicity by Pharrell Williams saying everywhere how much he loves stereolab and Chad Hugo( the other half of the Neptunes) wearing stereolab t-shirts to loads of awards and gigs.
Emperor Tomato Ketchup is great!

You're such a

Pharrell groupie ; )
