thank god that after we got dissed on stage for not reviewing their album and decided we've seen forward russia too many times to stay and saw Blood Red Shoes play an amazing (and amazingly air conditioned) show over at the Buffalo Bar.
it was bloody awful. people were like properly DRIPPING stood still to youthmovies. it was actually a little better when i went down the front, at least the air conditioning fell on you there.
i hate the overuse of the strobe light though! it makes me feel SO ill
revolting isn't it. i generally avoid the place anyway, because i rarely have a good time. re: what dan_thw said though, yes... i did love it a lot as a nipper too, somehow the heat didn't seem to bother me so much... just can't stand it there now though, and it's got an awfully depressing atmosphere. and there aren't enough seats.
We were actually a lot more upset about the fact that a decent amount of the crowd couldn't get in because they hadn't got ID - a matter which was only rectified when a kid from the gig upstairs got knocked over by a car outside the place - in front of most of the band
I [heart] DiS - we didn't slag them off, we just find the saga of our album review funny
i thought it was the best place in the world. the air conditioning was so good that you HAD TO mosh to keep warm.
now its pretty damn depressing and shit.
and notably over priced bar.
was the same
for the Polysics there a few weeks back. Horrid venue.
Its shit isn't it?
its how i imagine the inside of someone's head who'd got to 38 and STILL hasn't pulled at an indie night club. I hate it. (but used to love it)
aren't you about 38?
when I was a kid
I loved The Garage. Actually my favourite London venue. Then they got a new PA and it got LOUD. Like stupid loud. But that low ceiling - great fun!!
it
is stupidly loud there!
was ridiculous wasnt it

whingin? theyve had about ten reviews on here!
sand-loving bastards
hurrah for blood red shoes
i hear a CD compilation of their first three 7"s is going to happen at some point before the end of the year - good news, i feel..
i want to burn down the garage
or at least the upstairs bit
but then i'm sure that eventually someone will combust up there and do it for me.
upstairs is a sauna
and i always end up going there at summertime. stupid.
matt, that was funny :)
i was there last night
it was bloody awful. people were like properly DRIPPING stood still to youthmovies. it was actually a little better when i went down the front, at least the air conditioning fell on you there.

Shame you didn't die
yeah it is
i keep wishing myself dead but it just refuses to happen.
Perhaps literally kill yourself?
before your oh so busy social life does it to you.
or your concience.
*conscience

oh dear. i'm getting old.
The Air Conditioning USED to work
and when I say USED to, I'm only talking a few years back. It's only recently it's become unbearable. I hope to fuck they fix it.
CUNTS.
Last night at the Garage:
* I was sweatier than my entire time in Belgium combined.
* I tried to stage-dive and crowdsurf and just fell on my arse.
* Youthmovies dedicated a song to me, by calling me 'LOLin Colin'
* ¡Forward, Russia! slagged me off on-stage and then said, "it's fine, he's our mate."
Thusly, The Garage = wack.
first time i've been there
and it was shit.
dirty, dingy, rude staff and ungodly hot. when i got outside i could ring my shirt out, urgggh
ymss were awesome though, so it was well worth it, i jazzed out a bit, possibly.
i had no idea blood red shoes were near by or i'd have gone to that after youthmovies
are the ForwardRussia lot
becoming divas now they have their records in HMV? they'll be after kittens and carpets next...
.
I don't mind it. If you look up 'indie night' in a dictionary, they should have a picture of The Garage.
Those old Reading posters in the bar are good.
well..
i dont like the garage either, and the staff are sooooooooo rude!!
The staff there...
...all all complete cunts too.
They are
and I was upstairs on Tuesday, sweating buckets, and even the fridges weren't working so all the beer was warm. What a shithole.
wowowowowow

Nice to see not much has changed.....
