this whole ALT+Tab thing has opened new possibilities in slacking at work so now I went to instal messenger but when I try it says something like 'you dont haver admin rights to install this program for all users on this computer' or something. Is there any way around this? I know theres webmessenger and stuff but id prefer the proper one if possible
i feel so responsible
although i quit like the idea of being held accountable for a furher decline in british productivity.
civil servant is well
all your tax payers money
that's what i am.
and prole.
amazing.
that's what i was
yeah.
until they (quite rightfully) sacked me.
yeah.
installing stuff was a bitch. but i DID find a way around it. but i'll be buggered if i can remember how...
who did you work for?
why did you get sacked?
spill it.
not
telling.
wow sacked
it takes, like, 4 years to sack someone where I work
even
if you're a temp?
ah
a temp working on my team got fired a few years ago. he sent around a load of links supposedly "proving" that the 7/7 bombings were actually conducted by british / israeli intelligence.
he sent this to EVERYONE who works for the council, including all the councillors.
good one, craig.
*as well*
I installed the last fm thing at work but it would not work.
I was sickened.
You need to
get friendly with an IT technician.
They can change your privilege level to allow you to install things on your PC (not across the network).
Worked for me.
normally I can't install anything
at work because of admin rights (centrally controlled by university), but today I finally tried the last fm thing and it works! Hurrah! Now I can post in those chart threads...
I can help
Just use the web messenger thingy. It's messenger in a web browser so you don't need to download fck all. Really just blatently designed for works computers.
