clearly

a music thing...

Unless you want to hear the story of how Regina camped with us...

festivals are music things

fool!

"your view of this year's best festivals"

you obviously thought that a particular part of a festival was "WOW!".

No.

No. No.

This is the MUSIC board.

Plus....there are no music threads on the festival board.

Plus...i'm just a general bad boy and i do what i want...

"Plus....there are no music threads on the festival board."

thats because there haven't been any festivals yet. (and also because everyone hates the festival board).

There was

Glaston...

oh wait..

Do tell

indeed!

highlight of the weekend by a mile... Samson was just hdfhfihienifnwv

Damn

I couldn't get into the Barn as I left it too late - gutted.

yeah

she was half an hour late on because they were late running but hardly anyone left after Buck 65.

The barn was unbareably hot though, a girl fainted at the front, and when Regina realised she advised people to drink a lot of water. 2 minutes later the staff were walking through the crowd handing out bottled water. Shame it takes one of the artists for them to do something about it.

I didn't get to see anyone in the Barn

all weekend, I've just realised, apart from half of Xmas Lights' closer and standing outside The Half Rabbits while drying out. I kept leaving it too late - did you see the size of the 65daysofstatic queue?

No i didn;t,

but getting into Chicks On Speed wasn't fun, letting nothing but a very narrow gap in the gate to allow the 300+ people waiting to get in. Worth it though.

Was COS full

It seemed to be a mass exodus after 65dos finished.

From Youthmovies onwards, it seemed like the Barn was completely at its limits

yeah it was packed,

as many people went in as those that left after 65dos.

it was packed

but not sufficiently packed - fullerov and I arrived about 15 minutes before she came on and due to a combination of weaving and slying pushing, we made it right to the front, in the centre, in plenty of time.

honeslty, people are so malleable!

65DOS

Were boring. Maybe it was just the heat, but as someone said: "it's just Mogwai with a glitch button" - spot on.

well, I missed them too!

but maybe they were better in the ht sweaty barn than on the stage? yknow, atmosphere and stuff.... small spaces generally creates a more close-knit crowd too!

will i get lynched for saying this?

i wasn't really that bowled over by her. she has an amazing voice but her cutsey affectations were a bit grating after a while...the first song she did was WOW though.

course you wont get lynched!

I jujst find her endlessly fascinating, that is all. Also, I dont find her ''cutesy affections'' annoynig at all - I think she is a genuinely lovely person - hence the episode with the girl fainting and regina getting security (shocking that they only handed out water AFTER regina told them to!).

I wasn't at truck, but I'm going to stick my oar in

"Cutesy affectations" is EXACTLY the phrase I was looking for. You're right, it is pretty annoying, and I think it ruins her latest album. But you have to take the rough with the smooth I guess.

i refuse to believe

that anyone was as joyously wonderful as mystery jets on the main stage.

the research + manic cough + seafood + mystery jets =

a better time than cueing for ages and getting to watch any artist on the "barn stage".

I ran straight to the front of the queue

I'm not proud... wait, I am actually. She was a complete revelation, what a set that was.

I quite liked what I saw of her

but the heat in that barn became unbearable, and it made it difficult to really enjoy her set.

Did she play the 'drums' on the chair

For her encore on Poor Little Rich Boy and Ghost Of Corporate Futures?

She did in Gateshead and was bloody brilliant.
