i realy excited about the ordinary boys album even hough i havnt got a copy myself yet i hve listened to my friends and i thought it was great! do you not think? oh how many witty comments could be made about why they are not so ordianry
They are Britain’s foremost Jam tribute band, and kack at being that as well.
Boring, uber-retro (yes this is a very bad thing) and patronizing, A bunch of middle class boys that have taken it upon themselves to be the voice of the working class by talking down to them.
I like them, but I am clearly in the minority on this website. They apparently got the biggest crowd at T in the Park today, so someone else must like them!!
Nah - I saw 'em on that tour and hated 'em. NotJesus (see above post) thinks The Ordinary Boys are shite, as does Toxic Jesus. If any other prophets would like to come forward with their views, I'm sure they'll endorse this opinion.
They are sh*te. 'NotJesus' summed them up perfectly. No more please people, don't waste your lives on pathetic wannabe bands, who only get signed because they once brushed past Pete Doherty in a London pub.....and don't get me started on The Libertines!!!!!!!!!!
I like them. They were good live, and i like the LP. The constant comments like 'they're utter sh*te' which is very constructive and 'Jam Tribute Band' are such boring and lazy.
horrible music....but thought they were pretty good live at FROG. espiecially when some guy lobbed his full can of beer at them and one of the OB's tried to fight him at the end of their set
It's never done North End any harm. Or Preston Pig, for that matter.
Ordinary Boys are rubbish though. Kinesis mark two, I reckon, and we certainly didn't need another one. And I know they don't sound that similar, but it's all the anti-image ranty angry bollocks that just lumps them in together for me.
Could be worse I suppose, it's not like their dreadful, in fact, live they look ok.
The lyrics annoy me though - "Too much small talk leads to a small mind" - I totally agree with the statement, but let's stop singing about not chatting, and let's sing about something that really means something. Save being angry, say what you need to say, then lets refine your argument perhaps? Yes, I am being awkward. Sorry.
I was given the job of making their tour itineraries (sp?) at work for the Ordinary Boys for the NME awards tour. It took a great deal of self discipline to not change the name of the 'NME awards tour' to the 'NME Die Die Die Kill Destroy Tour' on the front covers.
Someone told me they used to be really big on the hardcore scene. They don't sound very hardcore. But then again, I know fuck all about hardcore. So.
I can picture that. Then they realised that hardcore is totally gay and being posh and english would slightly hinder their progress they decided to sell out to the nme and become a lame indie band with lyrics stolen from the great escape by blur. it would explain why they all have those horrible haggard tattoo’s though.
This is very strange. On this site most people seem to think they shite but if you go on the forum over at punktastic.com you find a bunch of punk kids wetting themselves over them.
