Ex-Razorlight drummer Christian Pancorvo (or Smith, delete as appropriate) has joined Serafin.
For those of you not sure of the relevance, Christian is the brother of Serafin lead singer Ben Fox Smith and this is almost a reformation of the superb yet under rated Stony Sleep.
This slightly cryptic post is what was posted on the bands official site :-
'We have replaced our drummer Ronny Growler with a guy called Lonely Blue boy. We love Ronny who is a fantastic drummer in his own right, but have had to realise our musical differences and preferences which, while considering the chemistry of the band and its future, became too great to continue with.
Lead singer Ben later confirms on the bands message board that the replacement is, indeed, Christian. The band have just completed the European tour circuit which included sets at Spaziale in Turin & Benicassim in Valencia and are currently recording their second album, the follow up to 'No Push Collide'.

I'm listening to Stony Sleep right now...ah that is too cool!!! They're basically my favourite band. A friend and I the other day were saying how we'd love for them to have been able to reform.
This also proves my opinion that Christian left Razorlight more due to musical differences than lifestyle, as much as I like them and love him I was suprised he was in a band like that.
Ahh I am so excited!!!

Re: Serafin Gain A Razorlight Christian!
i'm sure i'll be able to source a copy.
Re: Serafin Gain A Razorlight Christian!
The first one is called 'Refuse To Believe'
According to what I know and can glean from the release notes, The original French Car were Ben, Christian, Bishop Dante and the late Lee Citron (also of The Souls wasn't a member (but may well have been involved in some incestuous way...)
There is a Souls connection with the album tho - track 4 'The Stable Mutation of a Beautiful Child' was recorded at Unit 13 - the now defunct studio founded by Carnival Of Souls and KJD (also the scene of Razorlight's first rehearsals)
The new album 'religion is good for you' is much more recent, and I believe was mostly recorded at the Laurentic Wave Machine studio in Wales where KicksJoyDarkness recorded, as did Carnival Of Souls when recording the album "Unit 13" (named after the other studio obviously)
I don't know if any copies have gone into proper production - my copy has artwork almost entirely done by hand including a pencil illustration and CD body sprayed with dayglo-orange paint. Whatever it looks like it sounds insane in a painfully fantastic way!
More connexionz...
Christian/CoS:
Christian allegedly once said that he wished he had played drums for Carnival Of Souls instead of Razorlight - bet his bank manager disagrees!
Serafin/Ronny/Plastic Heroes/Spider/Carnival Of Souls:
Ronny replaced a guy called Spider in Plastic Heroes, who went on to play with Carnival Of Souls briefly. Spider was *f'ing excellent* when he played with the Souls - never knew why they didn't get him to stay, but they have a new permanent (hopefully :) drummer now instead.
Christian/Lee/KJD/Carnival Of Souls/Unit 13 and more:
Now that's a saga and a half which would never fit here - for more on this check the KJD, Anno and CoS sites - kicksjoydarkness.co.uk, anno.co.uk and carnivalofsouls.org
Re: Serafin Gain A Razorlight Christian!
Lee Citron (also of KicksJoyDarkness) As far as I know Gus of The Souls wasn't a member
The links got messed up, but you can get them at the bottom of the post anyway...

Didnt think anyone out of carnival of souls was involved in the french car project, though it may have changed.
Have got both albums and the 2nd one is every bit as awesome as the 1st if not better. I circulated a fair few originals of the 1st album, and havent got any left. The 2nd one has an even simpler production line and what kind of cover/inlay you get seems to vary.
Serafin are sounding awesome now that christian is more integrated into the band, and *fingers crossed* the 2nd album should be recorded by the summer.
Rumor goes that ronny's drumming for Plastic Heroes:

Correxions, massive
French Car is no longer a band, and is quite unlikely to become one again. There are two albums of recorded stuff from 2001 and 2004, which are a combination of a few old songs as played by the band and new songs by Christian. These were recorded mostly at Laurentic Wave. The first album was recorded and produced mostly by myself and Christian in two weeks, on a diet of rehydrated hippie beans, and I almost lost my life to immune system failure. Luckily a cheque cleared and I bought some meat before I perished. Nonetheless, I was in St. Mary's Hospital a week later. The second (and most likely final) album was recorded in a month by myself, Christian, Karolyn (aka Moniker) from My Vitriol and Jack Burns. That time I almost lost my sanity and the ability to see. That time Diazepam and the moral highground saved me, but not for long...
So that's the French Car thing sorted, and now living comfortably in the annals of total posterity. PS: More lyrical and in-tune vocals you won't find. The French Car albums are an ideal gift for those who appreciate delicate pitch perfect singing in a renaissance chamber music style. And where can you get them? If you haven't got one then you probably can't, unless you know somebody who will give you one, y'know. They're classified as controlled substances under the Geneva Convention.
