Those hip cats the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced a one-off show in London (Brixton Academy) for the 15th of November.

It's the final date the band will play over here this year. Tickets go on sale on the 20th of this month at 10am from the usual outlets.

For those that won't be able to make it, a DVD, 'Tell Me What Rockers To Swallow', is out on October 25th. It's not rubbish.

"It's not rubbish."

I think you'll find it is.................

Re: YYYs: one-off show and DVD

Really, it isn't.
Honest.

Re: YYYs: one-off show and DVD

Really???

I saw them doing a MTV2 live thing....and they were dreadful. Assuming the quality of their performance wouldn't differ too much...but I'll certainly take your word for it.

'Maps' is the only remotely bearable thing this band have ever recorded. 'Maps', is infact, a stonking tune.

Re: YYYs: one-off show and DVD

100% agree. Good call.

YYYs: one-off show and DVD

maps is one of my less favourite songs of theirs for some reason; i still love the first EP

Re: YYYs: one-off show and DVD

The first EP was fab, I love Art Star. But Maps is a class tune.
What's on this DVD anyone?
xx

YYYs are deceiving. They release the three songs off their album which sound like nothing else on the album so people will buy it then people buy it and its weird cos all you listen to is Pin, DWTN and Maps.

YYYs: one-off show and DVD

tick is also a very good song
and also modern romance
- i like them: and if this is an unpopualr view then..well i don't care
i do agree that the ep is far better than the album..and i wait with anticipation for what the come up with on the second album

Personally, I can't wait for the new Pretty Girls Make Graves record, who are far superior to YYYs (well, in my eyes anyway).

Re: YYYs: one-off show and DVD

AMEN, motherfucker. Andrea Zollo kicks ass, and it helps that she doesn't look like a 50-year-old whore running off of battery fumes.

Re: YYYs: one-off show and DVD

Oh yes, now there's a band worth your hard-earned pennies!

I'm *very* excited about the new record too, heard some of the new stuff live debuted on their mini-tour before Reading / Leeds and it's sounding spot on!

Did we expect anything less though? ;)

I was going to go to this gig, £28 with booking fee and postage.
no fucking way.

Re: YYYs: one-off show and DVD

thats aloud isnt it? go with ticketweb or something instead...

Re: YYYs: one-off show and DVD

ticketweb and gigsandtours is still £22.50.
wayahead/seetickets was £28.

still a lot of money...
I saw them for £7 not that long ago, a bit sickening.

Ah, PGMG...how I love thee. Fucking brilliant band...blows The Yeah Yeah Yeahs far, far out of the water.
