September 30th's Let's Rock! Edinburgh event - due to be held at the Royal Highlands Centre - has been cancelled.
Acts slated to appear included The Futureheads (pictured), Babyshambles, Feeder and Long Blondes - click here for our initial announcement. Had the one-day gig gone ahead, it would have been Edinburgh's largest-ever indoor festival, with a 22,000-person capacity.
A statement on the event's website reads...
"We are very disappointed and saddened to announce the cancellation today of Let's Rock! Edinburgh. This event was being funded with the aid of a private investor who is now not able to produce the necessary funding required to see the event continue. This unfortunately leaves us with no choice but to cancel the event with immediate effect.
"All tickets will be refunded if you return to your point of purchase. If you purchased online or via telephone, please contact the ticket agent who will issue you with a full refund."
that's pretty shitty
not very surprising though, it's not been publicised at ALL here, i can't imagine they sold many tickets. dis is literally the only place i've heard about it, i never even saw any posters up.
me neither
I wonder who the private investor was...
sorry :(
hahahah!
damn you and mick hucknall :p
Yup.
Yeah, this is the first I've actually even heard of it. I must have missed when it was mentioned here earlier.
...
Bullet: Dodged.
Stupid
OK lets do something in Edinburgh..... When would be a good time???? How about September not much will have happened in the City for a while!!! Fcking morons Edinburgh's rode ragged with the fringe all August and this was poor planning right the way through.
suck
Not to mention 90% of the bands sucked balls
^
What the crap...!
Is this what "rock" has come to?
Christ, this must be the most lame line-up for a "rock" (heck, any) event I've ever seen. If I were to attend, I'd bloody hope Sir Cliff was there to duet with Skaghead Doherty.
