Frankly, I'm pleased when band's I like get good reviews in NME as it shows the wider musical press are giving them credit. And there's a difference between taking influence (e.g. The Icarus Line take influence from The Stooges) and plagiarism (e.g. Jet plagiarise the Stooges). The Libertines, on the other hand, are just shit so I'm at a loss to see why anyone would like them. What's the point of their musical direction? It's the same principal as all these hardcore punk bands who constantly rehash old Minor Threat songs in an attempt to "keep it real". I mean, seriously, why are so many journalists hailing The Libertines as the best band in Britain? If you saw them down the pub you'd tell them to fuck off back to their bedrooms. The best band in Britain by a mile are Mogwai, but NME has decided that post rock isn't cool anymore so people are choosing to feed Pete Doherty's crack addiction through the purchase of Libertines records.

I've said it once, I'll say it again; Fuck off Doherty, you're an abhorent little shit who deserves absolutely no sympathy whatsoever and take the rest of your god-awful band with you.
