This looks a mega read

well done there, John

I refer you to the last sentence of that interview:

"enough money to buy a Jag?"

:)

ha

jag city

...

"Well, I have come to hate CDs. They are just a plastic carrier for
information, not an actual musical object like a vinyl record."

...

...

... yes?

I think,

it's a reference to the fact that in essence that is what vinyl is as well....

No.

The physical process of a needle reading music from a piece of plastic vinyl is a physical process. A piece of vinyl is actually a musical object in itself. Information read from a CD is essentially just re-presentation of digital information.

That's how I feel about it anyway.

I wonder if all the CDs would get wiped in a nuclear explosion. That happened in a film I saw. All the digital information vanished and everything stopped working. They were using clockwork radios and crank-start cars.

No they wouldn't get wiped

Only magnetic information would be destroyed by an EMP. So your tapes and videos would all be fucked. Your DVDs and CDs would be fine.

Sorry to be picky

But a laser reading a disc is still a physical thing, just because it is digital doesn't make it any less real.

Laser eye surgery etc?

Anyway, I know what you're getting at but vinyl is merely a receptical for audio information just like a CD.

I love vinyl by the way. But, you know...

Be as picky as you like.

I understand what you're saying too, but I still think my thing.

Ha, sure man

That's one way of looking at things.

Well done for the interview though.

Oh

You're the interviewee!
