Tiresome retro outfit The Ordinary Boys have confirmed that founding drummer Charlie Stanley has left the band. They'll now be auditioning for a replacement.

The band are currently working on songs for their second album, and have a tour scheduled for February. Ideally, they'll need a new drummer asap. Interested?

Well, should you feel up to it (how hard can it be in such a band, really?), you can apply for the position by sending your name, age, address, phone number and photograph (!) to:
The Ordinary Boys
PO Box 148
Hove
East Sussex

No real word as to why Charlie parted company with the Boys. Like you're bothered...

It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drummer Ch

so you bought the nme for its free cd too?

Re: It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drummer Ch

???
Nope. Why? This mentioned in it?

Re: It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drumme

yeah, in kinda similar format (well, as far as it publicises the auditions)
the cds actually really pretty fucking good.
turns out that at least some of the seemingly odious gorrilla brigade are actually pretty nasty
picking up a late 80s, pre grunge american indiecore vibe off some of them, on first listen at least.

Re: It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drumme

Oh. I see. Well, I didn't see, more to the point.
What's on the CD, exactly? Could do with a giggle.
I've not bought a copy of the NME for, ooooh, at least a year. Probably more.

Re: It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drumme

well its my first for i think 4 months
and the last one was just cos my mates were in it, in very small writing.
before that was BEAR time ago.
and who should be on the cover of my first nme purchase in god knows how long?
KASfuckingABIAN.
ewwww
but the cd:
from memory:
bloc party - helicopters
futureheads - first day
kaiser chiefs - ...riot
joanna newsom (sp), willie nelson
and a whole bunch of rhythm factory stuff
eg
selfish twunt, baby shambles
a whole bunch of stuff.
id say worth £1.80.
unless you have slsk, in which case it is worth precisely nothing.
i dunno
i recommend it.

It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drummer Charlie

Wonder if this has anything to do with Charlie getting smacked in the mouth by Metro Riots after he jumped up onstage with them.

Re: It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drummer Charlie

I think ollie riot broke the guys nose

>(how hard can it be in such a band, really?)

I dunno. Does it help if you can play the drums?

I can. But I'm not applying. Like the album. But saw them live and both supports (Dogs Die In Hot Cars, Kaiser Chiefs) were much better.

The job is perfect for Stuart Cable formerly of the Stereophonics.

Re: It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drumme

now there's an ordinary boy

Re: It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drumme

If by ordinary you mean grotesquely ugly.

Or ridiculously-afroed. Stuart Cable isn't normal in any sense of the word. He's a big, drumming, afroed freak of Welsh nature.

Somewhere... deep in the valleys of Wales, past the Llangoeds & the Aberfridds, there lies a a town... well I say town, I mean 3 huts & a field. A town where a man can live in harmony with sheepy brethren, free from mockery & persecution... This town my freinds has one surname for the entire populace... Cable

I AM CABLE! HEAR ME BLEAT!

It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drummer Charlie

I think he actually stalks small villages in the more northern parts of Wales, feeding on carrion wen he can ind it, occasionally pouncing on a small child when food is scarce. He is destined to end up as a potential X-Files myth.

It's an Ordinary world, again, for Boys drummer Charlie

Stuart Cable is actually the love child of Bonnie Langford and Andre the Giant. Bet you didn't know that!

Never trust a white man with an afro.
