Anyone know of any decent unsigned bands in the south of england (preferrabley southampton). 'Cus im too poor to see any of the more popular bands that I like, so I guess it's about time I got into some unsigned bands
we're from the wild west midlands. but the $hit roadshow regularly hits the southern shores - we are playing london on saturday, winchester 31st and brighton next month. dates on website if u wanna come along. hopefully we wont be unsigned for too much longer though ;)
yeah standing at the front of a bookish gig could result is a swift kick in the chest from simon if things get rowdy - i interviewed him about it for my webzine which is - http://www.brainlove.cjb.net - for those who are interested... ;)
bookish is kinda minimal, sparse, posh electro stuff
wolf is a mixture of quiet, beautiful folky ballads and full on euro-glitch breakbeat
villeneuve is an ex-digital hardcore alternapop genius
muscle bastard is rough rasping 4-track noisepop
the $hit is glitchglam electro-punkbeat fuckrock
we're hoping to have a few shows lined up down south in october/november time. Also the site will be undergoing a re-design and will feature an mp3 of our tracks in the near future. Check out teletext on channel 4 for a review of 'here goes nothing'
Check out www.quickfixrecordings.co.uk tune in to The Fortnightly Fix on www.passion1079.com on sundays @ 11pm for all the best unsigned music from oxford.

Come see The Vendettas play on the 16th of january, long's wine bar, 6-9pm lymington. s'relatively close to southampton. you'll like us if you like; the kings of leon, Red hot chili peppers, the vines, jimi hendrix...the list go's on. loads of other bands play, come along have a laugh.
There are some decent unsigned bands on poor organisations at www.poororganisation.com, including RBAP, a postcore funk outfit and Psyche Out, a great Godspeed type 8 piece
I Like Trains will be playing the Drowned In Sound Brave New Ideas night at 93 Feet East, London on Thursday, Januuary 13th. We reckon you might want to check them out.
There we go SCL.
If I get down (get on the good foot) for it then I'll give you that signed picture ;)
Yeah, and i'd have to leave my 2-years old daughter and my pregnant wife !
Sorry, just have to wait to see them signed, big and playing in Paris !
Just a dream perhaps.
Fleeingnewyork are awesome. Heard them on Radio 1 ONE MUSIC last night...Dead!Dead!Dead are great too so it should be a brilliant night..anyone got any more details of the Southscene gig?
i've heard on the grapevine that in Southampton the best place to catch whats going on in terms of amazing bands is at an Ejector Seat night. could be wrong though.

turncoat
zelega
moly
a world asleep
bearsuit

I hate to have to tell you but there is a guy called Chevron who is signed to Planet Mu. So this band may run into some trouble if they ever do get signed.
