Gigs in a brewery? DiS's dreams come true...

The old Boddingtons Brewery, at Strangeways in Manchester, is to hold a series of live music events through the autumn and winter.
The first act confirmed to appear as part of The Warehouse Project is Public Enemy. The legendary rap group will perform on October 5, supported by DJ sets from Kasabian, Doves and Goldie.
We're a little gutted that the brewery isn't actually brewing tasty booze anymore - production of the beer has moved to Bristol of all places (they still produce the cask variety in Manchester, mind) - but this has given us an idea. Soon as we get a second, we're getting on the blower to the Ringwood Brewery (website). Not to ask them to put gigs on, you understand - we just want a flaggon of Old Thumper.
The organiser of the Manchester events, Sam Kandell, spoke to the city's local 'paper Manchester Evening News:
“It promises to be an amazing series of and events. The Boddingtons building was always top of our list because it is so iconic in Manchester but we never thought we’d get it. Then it just became possible.”

The Beerhouse
on rochdale road in manchester is definitely the best place in terms of beer meets music venue. At least 8 guest ales at any point, really cheap, nice locals, plus a small upstairs room for gigs. Fits about 50 people at a squeeze. I wish more bands played there...sigh

Forest Tavern / The Maze
Is the bestest for gigs + ale, but that's here in happy Nottingham.

I tend to go
to this pub really near the station whenever in nottingham (cant remember its name), they actually have Rebellion on tap. I was impressed, thats a good pint. Its a rare thing to find a good pub for real ale's that is also a good pub for gigs (and vice versa)

how lucky you are...
...boddingtons had always been my favorite bitter during my trips to gb.
up here in cologne you can only get in cans, quite expensive too.
but our 'mühlen kölsch' is ace, too. -
