Speaking to Gigwise website, the band’s frontman Shawn Christensen said
“It is very possible that we have turned a bit darker on this record; there's certainly more space and breadth than our debut. Less punk, more focus on flowing melodies and rhythms. Subjects range from deep paranoia and lost friends to orphans, leaders, followers and dependence on those you'd least expect; Also breaking free and unrequited love, which perhaps were themes still left over from the last record.”
The same site reports that working titles include 'When I Disappear', 'Precious Games', 'Sweet Troubled Soul', 'Born in a Fleamarket' and 'Angela'.

HAHAHA. NYC geniuses? This must be a different Stellastar than the one i know of, who are a shite Pixies/Supergrass ripoff band who think having art-school hair makes up for songs or talent. Nope, same band.
