Are they? Aren't they? Does anyone care since Pinkerton was so long ago? Does anyone actually enjoy dancing to 'Buddy Holly', or do they do so simply out of respect for the band's former glories? Who, really, gives a stuff if Weezer stay together?
The kids? Maybe. The band, too, seem keen to put to bed the rumours suggesting that they're done for. The band has posted a statement on their website that reads as follows:
"Now please, take those 'Weezer split?' headlines and place them firmly into the 'Don't believe the hype' bin. And have yourself a fine afternoon now."
But, but, but... didn't Rivers say that the band was done? No plans have been made, to tour or record. I, for one, am a confused young man. The only way to cure this distress is with lunch. Coming?

Buddy Holly
is ace to dance to.
I care.
Really, I do.
Good news for
Stinkerton
they are a classic one album band
as in the only one I brought, 'the blue one'
'bought', not 'brought'
I really care
you wouldn't believe how much I care
If Weezer split up I would be inconsolable. For a bit.
you bought the wrong album
Pinkerton is still the greatest album EVER made
'Brought' sounds better.
I like the idea that these boards could somehow function as a virtual musical equivalent of a book grpup where everyone brings a selection of albums and plays them for the enjoyment of everyone online.
Not sure how it would work though.
Yup, I dance to everything Weezer have done.
I even do the shimmy to Surf Wax America.
Third rate Stinkerton tribute act.
IMO
Well
Rivers only said he had no plans with what to do with the music he was writing. I guess he's had a think on that.
And yeah, I still care about them too. Slightly lower hit-to-miss ratio these days but I still don't understand why some people just see Pinkerton as the be all and end all. If you think that, move on. It's like wanting the Manics to replicate The Holy Bible...
Twunt
Pretty good band,Weezer.
But River Cuomo is by far the worst frontman I've ever had the displeasure of interviewing. An utterly rude and socially ungraceful twunt. Believe all the stories you have heard about him.
I once flew to LA to interview for him for a now defunct magazine, only to have him answer 'Yes' and 'No' for 20 minutes, then get in a huff. Then I came home. Ah - great days.
And nary a hash pipe in sight...
When did you meet him?
I gather he used to be the biggest arse in music - I've read many horror stories. There was one where he made a publicist get off a tourbus and walk back to the hotel from the venue, with no explanation, but that's the tip of the iceberg.
Just recently he has opened up a lot and he spent the whole of his last album (lyrically) apologising... still a very odd man but happily it would appear no longer such an unpleasant one.
his oddness
and social ineptness is what made them good, it's not like he sings about how greata person he is, he sings about being a creepy little weirdo (well pinkerton)so what do people expect
i for one care
and personally i don't think they've mad a bad album.
mock me if you must, but at least i don't have to resort to extremely lame sarcasm. i really really don't.
haha
*made
you, sir
are a big silly.
consider yourself mocked...
...
Weezer are ace.
That is all.
Yes
I do deeply care
I care too
They are still a good band even if the new material is not as good as pinkerton. Why are people so eager to kill them off?
I go away for a few days,
And when i come back everyone is being really caring a lot. Good one weezer you guys rock
Rivers..............
Is John MENTAL apparantly.
But I still heart Weezer, quite a lot thinking about it.
I couldn't care less
If he was an idiot savant who spent all his time ooutside the studio in a mental hospital, I FUCKING LOVE WEEZER!!!!!!
HEHEHEEHEHHEHE I'M SO FUCKING HAPPY RIGHT NOW
Hence the unnecessary swearing.
Sorry.
I'll get me coat.
i think
they should. the material quality is on a severe decline. i know they won't make pinkerton again, i dont want them to. but when they've written songs that good, how can they release such poor material as "we are all on drugs"...
