Razorlight add extra Ally Pally date
Posted:
Despite the overmarketing of their debut 'Up All Night' to the credibility point of no-return, Johnny & The Lights (aka Razorlight) have leapt from shows at the Astoria and Brixton Academy to selling out their, some of you might've said 'optimistic', 7,000+ capacity show at Alexandra Palace on February 11th.
To celebrate this feat and to push their luck that smidgen further, Razorlight have announced a 'due to demand' second night on February 12th. Tickets are priced at £18 and available from seetickets.com.
In other news, the band have been gagging to get back into the studio for much of the past year and DiS hears they're currently in the studio working on the second album. Also their postponed show supporting the Manics in Cardiff will now take place on January 11th.
DiScuss: Ha! In your face doubters! Anyone else felt strangely guilty for seeing through the overkill and realising 'Up All Night' is infact one of the pop albums of 2004? What do you expect the new stuff to sound like?

Good to see people flocking to see them, they are a quality band. Has DiS done an album of 2004 poll yet? I remember last year Radiohead won despite it not being anything special.-

Never been a doubter myself. Great to see them making it. I encourage all your cockneys to see that show as they do indeed put on a cracking live performance. -

Footnote: Up All Night is indeed a good album, apart from In The City which is just embarrassing.

in a perfect world, it would be Razorlight trudging the toilet circuit forever and Serafin adding sell-out dates here and there.. but then again, well done to Razorlight for getting there first. god knows how they did it but i bet their mums are dead proud. -
Re: Razorlight add extra Ally Pally date

You have a seriously, seriously wrong idea of a 'perfect world'. WRONG I tell you.-
Re: Razorlight add extra Ally Pally date
I dunno. Sounds quite appealing to me. Maybe not perfect but definately an improvement on the real world.

Err Mr Marwood, you are indeed spot on. And also Mansun reforming and doing a proper tour of the brilliant last lp would be great.
I ainmt got the time of day for Razorlight to be fair, i think they do what they do well, but theyr hardly premier in the league they play? -

btw : has anyone asked Christian why he left the band on the eve of thier success to join his brothers band?
or does anyone know the real reason : apart from over 'health differences' or whatever the NME printed?

They're good live but the album's a bit patchy - I hate In The City - and Johnny's so mouthy in interviews I just want to smack him and yet he's quite down to earth in person. -

I hate to admit it, but the majority of the album is actually pretty good. Doesn't stop them being prize cvnts though -

Why bother slanging them off, they're not that bad and they are good live, they were awsome at the Astoria, supported by Bloc Party! Although the album can get kinda boring, but good luck to them for this adding extra Ally Pally dates thing! -

You should have seen them play to an empty field at Pukkelpop last summer.
And the look on this arrogant wanker's face, not really understanding why nobody would give a shit about his band. -
