I was greeted into the day by the macabre, disturbing program I posted about not long ago. 'Lazy Town'.

Toddlers have no fucking taste, these days.

What kind of program has a villain whose intentions are 'to make children fat'? He's not even going to eat them or anything, he just wants people to be lazy and unhealthy.

I'm no criminal mastermind, and I know its for kiddies, but COME ON. What kind of agenda is that!?

It wasn't much better when I was little, but at least I had stuff like the X Men cartoons or even the original Tom & Jerry cartoons. Its a good job I had the handmedowns from the 80's in the form of video (Thundercats, Action Force etc.). Kids cartoons with no violence are pretty much always terrible.

And what the cock has happened to Postman Pat? All the voices have changed, there's about a million more people AND its computer generated. Children of the 00's are being deprived of the magic that I was so lucky to receive from the mastered puppetry - the likes of Rosie and Jim, for example.

The children of the 00s

probably pity you for having had such technologically inferior entertainment.

Wow.

Technology does not improve the content. If anything, when something's got super flashy special effects, they're going to take your mind off the storyline.

It also shows the producers were more talented in the 90's. They could make absorbing programs armed only with bits of string and hands.

Technology doesn't improve the content

but they're kids. I don't think they're being deprived of anything if they're getting flashing lights and 3D Postman Pats and stuff. They're living the childhood dream we all had.

Yeah,

the 90's, eh? The tin bath in the kitchen, working down the mine for 6d a fortnight, playing with spinning tops in the street...

You might not want to believe it,

but technology has changed massively in the last ten years. That's the point I was making...

omg.

Does anyone remember ZZZZZZAP?

WITH THE HANDS MAKING THE THINGS!

THE GIRL WITH THE YELLOW BANDS ON HER HAIR!!!

AGHGH!G!

AND THE ARTIST!!!!

THE ARTISSSSST!!!!

I used to narrowly miss it

most weeks. Got home to see maybe one sketch and then it's finished.

that show was amazing.

one of my favourites. the dopey one that looked like stan laurel was best.

I don't remember him!

Remember it used to show like a comic and it would land on someone.

OOOH the memories.

I read it was aimed at deaf children.

it was , indeed, amazing

me and my 12 years younger than me cousin used to have long and varied discussions about that program.
