Quite liked 'Laura' but I could never, ever buy the album on principle because of the whole 'Comfrotably numb' thing. I heard like 2 beats and chucked the earphones away from me, it was too much...
i hated comfortably numb more than ever.
but i think it was all done for attention.
still cant believe they were allowed to get away with it.
but live they are fantastic that did it for me.
still i will never forgive for that comfortably numb debarkle....
erm - Keane - I just dont know why I do - after playing Hex Enduction hour by the Fall and Metal Box by Pil I somehow fuind it acceptable to listening to Somewhere Only We KNow wihtout worrying of destprying my 'reputation'
The Scissor Sisters are just some hollywood brats trading in on the pink pound - lets face it eh?
OSM is written by people who are not into music for people to read who are not into music - and when people with true talent and verve want to write they are firewalled from even irrelevant gashfests like that - its a sorry world isnt it?
I'd gladly challenge any writer from that 'supplement' to a 'write fight' but i imagine they're all in the Maldives at the moment!
It is also badly edited and poorly researched.
At least, the last issue was.
This isn't a pot shot at it for the sake of it - in the past it has been a decent read - but the Darkness issue was awful. Full of mistakes (when did GnR record a self-titled album??) and badly subbed. Really, a blind man could have done better. Also, that round up of the best of the rest releases is utterly pointless - just snippets from the press releases! I really hope they don't pay whoever's responsible for that 'review' section.
Two-penny worth, done.

I possess a Phantom Planet cd.
I got it (for free) after hearing one track cos the bass line reminded me of The Fall. The rest of it (disappointingly) didn't sound remotely like The Fall (obviously), but I do admit to listening to it on several occasions!
Also got the Vines new cd free and have listened to bits of that a few times too.
Some emo bands grow on me sometimes... I tend then to go on an intense 'good music program' for a few days just to get rid of that. Dogs die in hot cars' single is pretty good in my opinion. Sometimes i enjoy Slipknots 'Duality' aswell. :-s
i hate to mention this but whenever No Douht songs come on the radio I start humming alon and moving a little, now iv nerver bought one of there CD's but to be honnest iv thought about it
I've always been partial to a bit of motown, Stevie Wonder and the like, but I'm not really asamed of that. I am however shamed to say that I still listen to early Beuatiful South from time to time.

Girls Aloud made fucking ace pop music, even if one of them is possibly a racist bitch and in spite of the way they formed.
Fatboy Slim's shirts may also be a crime against humanity, but I'm rather partial to Halfway Between The Gutters & The Stars.
Re: bands you shouldn't really like but do
Eddie Vedder - "I am not Your Messiah" - never a truer statment there then
Can I add the Divine Comedy to this sorry farrago buiit none of the above, obviously

A DiS scribe giving out about the observer music mag for *THEIR* shoddy ((right back from issue 1)) sub-editting. Mummy, what's irony?

Feel sorry for James Walsh and at least they ain't Keane

You may be able to forgive me for that but the thing is, I still stand by it being a great album.
There goes the cred (what little I already had)

Embarrassing bands that I like:
Scissor Sisters
I would say Goldie Lookin Chain, but every1 likes them so I won't bother, even though I now have.

He works 12 hour shifts in a cardboard factory.
He's recently been muttering through his beard about a Britney Spiers song he likes.
I think it's the constant exposure to daytime radio in the workplace and too much white cider that gets people on the slippery slope.
