Limp Bizkit: new album recorded in Prague

Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst and Wes Borland are working on new material with producer Ross Robinson in Prague.

Durst posted the following on the band's website:

"This (Prague) is where I am connecting with the darkness. Some days are explosive, others just plain heavy from the gothic aesthetic of this city in general. We have gone to the other side a few times with absinthe to discover the unknown. This album is dark musically already, but when mixed with the tone in the air of Prague it becomes somewhat horrifying."

DiScuss: Limp Bizkit: washed-up has-beens or still a strong force in mainstream contemporary rock? Could their new material win critical appreciation?

Dunno if Ross Robinson is really all that bad to be honest. He might be seen as an untrendy nu metal producer but truth is some of the production work he has done has sounded immense (Slipknot's first album is a good example).

He also did an amazing job on Burn Piano Island Burn by the Blood Brothers and to give him credit, he's tried to branch out into other genres too such as the last Cure album (although admittedly it wasn't his best work).

I dunno if I can see anybody giving a rats ass about the new Limp Bizkit album to be honest, but that most certainly won't be due to Ross Robinson's production.

have to agree he does tend to do some good stuff. he's stated that he despises numetal and apologised for his involvement in it, so thats a good thing. his production for glassjaw was pretty nice, as was the stuff he did with amen. seems that regardless of the bands actual quality he tends to make them sound at least interesting compared to other similar bands.

I've been to Prague and I got drunk on the green stuff like a good tourist fuckwit but I didn't feel the need to inflict horrificly shit "rock" on the world as a result. What did Prague ever do to deserve having this wanker inflicted on it? Freed from 40 years of Soviet dictatorship only to be targetted by every wannabe boho twat in the western world, now led by the laughable figure of Durst in his fucking cap.

Personal Prague experience:

Fat American walks through a square full of tourists.

Utters, loudly: "Fuckin tourists, this place would be wonderful if there were less of them... I hate 'em, they're ruining this place."

Fails to grasp the fact that HE is wearing a large, unbuttoned Hawiian (sp?) shirt, a bumbag, has a McDonald's burger in one hand and a large camcorder in the other. At the time there was ONE McDonald's, but God Bless America, he found it.

Hey let's remember in the heady days of 2000, chavs and pikies wore Limp Bizkit hoodies. We missed a heroic chance to convert a generation of kids to rock.

They're still crap though, aren't they? I mean Rollin' has to be a candidate for worst song of the 20th century (or 21st, whatever).

Crap song, yes... But at least it had an associated 'dance'/arm motion; and with a clever twist of the wrist, you could become the wittiest kid on the block by making the 'wanker' gesture instead! Hilarious!

Did that creepy Fred Durst actually think that, by recording in some exotic locale, he'd be able to make up for the fact that his band's named Limp Bizkit--not to be confused with "limp biscuit"--and that rap metal sucks?! Covering the Who's "behind blue eyes" didn't do it. Maybe he should rag on Christina Aguilera some more.

And as far as calling upon Ross Robinson, well, it hasn't worked for them yet. I'm not saying Robinson is to blame. Afterall, he produced the Cure's latest album. I think Limp Bizkit just really isn't a genuine music-making outfit.

To make Absinthe drinkable, hence, removing the disgusting taste, you have to add shitloads of sugar. Limp Bizkit has a similar effect on the ears in that you have to fill them will cement to make them bearable.

i think when Durst said the new album is going to be "horrifying" he was kinda understating it. what a load of pretentious bullshit that guy speaks. when he writes a good song he might be able to get away with speaking like that. as it is, he's just a total dickhead.

Limp Bizkit: new album recorded in Prague

I haven't read this whole discussion, but on the bright side, the musical misery that this album should bring to the public should put the final nail in this bands musical coffin. It's obvious that their last album was one of the biggest pieces of garbage to be released in years, but this should destroy everything else they have done. Not even Wes's average songwriting can save the misery that is Fred Durst, who is easily the worst singer/"MC" to front a band in the last 20 years.
