People In Planes take flight

People In Planes People In Planes release their debut single 'Talking Heads' through Trigger Industries on April 4.

Formerly know as Tetra Splendour (who were formerly known as Robots in the Sky), the South Wales rock and retro fusionists were playlisted by the US Spin Magazine's Radio Station all through January. Spin Radio is linked to 300 college radio stations throughout the 52 states. January concluded with a rather successful showcase gig at The Mercury Lounge in New York on 24th January with a packed and enthusiastic crowd jostling with the plenty of music biz reps in attendance.

The guys start a three week disparate tour of the UK this Wednesday that calls at the Shetland Islands as well as the more regular smokes. The 'Planes then fly out to take their place amongst a cast of thousands at this year's SXSW in Austin TX.

saw these guys support Oceansize on the last tour and they were proper good, well worth a look and a listen. Their singer is excellent

fuck i'm a tard, i had no idea these were tetra splendour... i've seen them twice then! must start going to gigs sober.

  • People In Planes take flight

tetra splendour is the better name though! their album was really rather good.

they have a lot of record company interest in the US... the PIP debut album is very very good. The head of EMI has to have been deaf to have let this lot go! It fact EMI Records itself hasn't broke a band since letting go of HIFH and TS(PIP) - two bands on the verge of something special. The Concretes? Fuck off!

bands like People In Planes are very special.
    • Re: People In Planes take flight

      The Concretes are pleasing!

Anyone know whereabouts they're playing in Aberdeen? I presume it was supposed to be Dr.Drakes :(
  • People In Planes take flight

EMI = wankers, but I don't agree with Hell is for Heroes, there's nothing really special/different about em IMO
    • Re: People In Planes take flight

Aye... one listen to 'Kamichi' shows that EMI had a point, really. It's a shame, really: 'The Neon Handshake' had some mighty fine tracks.
      • Re: People In Planes take flight

I should stop saying "really", really...
  • People In Planes take flight

    grr !

Play a gig in the Midlands you biatches !!!
    • Re: People In Planes take flight

Well I wouldn't play in Cov either!! :)
One of the reasons I moved out of the midlands is the distinct lack of decent gigs, it's terrible.

People In Planes are great. Absolutely brill. I loves it.
