Reuben

Finally got a hold of their new album, listened to it the whole way through.

Decided they are one of the best hardcore rock bands in Britain.

Comments?

  • Re: Reuben

only heard the singles but I like
  • Re: Reuben

thats kinda the issue: how hardcore are they?
i mean i go between LOVING them, i mean REALLY loving them
    and thinking
    ew
teeny punk with eddie vedder crap seeping through.

suppose i'll have to give th album some time.
    • Re: Reuben

i think their albums good. moving to blackwater is a personal fav of mine and i saw they released it although i never heard it on teh radio (even though freddy kruger got a bit of play) nor saw a video of it. but stil, their good.
    • Re: Reuben

Hmmm, agree with alcxxk on this one. The video for "Freddy Kruegar" with all those kiddies with "silly" looking hats puts me off somewhat, and makes me dismiss them as teeny pop-punk-whatever (this is obviously who they're aiming their music towards, after all).

Damn good band though. And they are the least-sounding hardcore hardcore band (if that makes sense).
      • Re: Reuben

(i was in the freddie video)
        • Re: Reuben

Yeah, but you're the same age as me so I don't include you under the "kiddies" tag.

Otherwise that would be plain daft...
    • Re: Reuben

      who the fcuk are they?
talk about some real bands like ironmaiden every 1 has heard of them and metallica! oh not forgetting ac/dc!
      • Re: Reuben

        yuh huh
we're only allowed to talk about bands that are already talked about.

there will never be a new band, from this point on.
        • Re: Reuben

when i first put reubens album on, i was really disappointed...i thought all the songs sounded the same and i found myself listening to freddy kreuger and let's stop hanging out only, cos those were the only songs i had heard before.
but i couldn't have been more wrong. after listening to the album constantly over the last few months i found it was actually amazing and i am so glad i gave it a chance. yay for reuben.
          • Re: Reuben

            metalmiss90, iron maiden sorta suck.
            • Re: Reuben

              i like iron maiden.

              oh no wait...no i don't.
            • Re: Reuben

I think you mean "metalmiss90" sucks. And no, innuendo wasn't the point of the comment.
              • Re: Reuben

Putting 16 tracks on 'Racecar...' was way too adventurous for a debut album by a band like Reuben, ther'se at least 4-5 fillers on there that could have been cut but all in all when they get it right, they really get it right... shitloads of potential and great live too...
                • Re: Reuben

I agree... 16 tracks on a debut album is tres risky. It's a nice gesture on the bands behalf but still... some of the songs don't quite cut it.

However, the good songs on "Racecar..." are really fucking good songs.
                  • Re: Reuben

The Futureheads carried it off, but only cos they had the material to do it. It's better to make a great 10 track album than an average 16 track album.
                    • Re: Reuben

For all The Futureheads album has 15 tracks, the tracks are uber short, the whole album's under an hour long. Whereas the Reuben album has 16 full length songs on it.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing that it's got 16 tracks, it's just a bit much to listen to all at once.

                      :)

nah waterwings - alcxxk does deserve the "kiddie" tag....its the mental age you have to consider... lol
                        • Re: Reuben

                          oh ho ho.
                          ho indeed.
