Hi,

I'm looking to join a new London based band into grunge/indie rock stuff, ala Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Pixies, Pavement, Interpol, dEUS, Mclusky etc etc.

I have nearly 10 years of gigging experience, my own gear and transport, and have been dedicated for all the bands I've been in. I do not want to join a band full of musos, just a band who like their beer, good music and good times.

I have plenty of mp3's if interested.

DRUMS

Hey man,
hows it going?
like what your saying, you sound like what we're looking for.

Drums needed for energetic modern psychedelic 60's garage rock. Commitment/passion/energy and fun essential.
Serious interest/contacts/backing.

Have a listen to some old line up recordings without the psychedelic element.

If you dig get in touch.

DIRTY ELECTRIC

Forgive me if I've asked you before, but

do you sing as well as drum? Preferably simultaneously? I'm on the lookout, see.

What is a muso

Do you mean you wanna join a band of non musicians? like a rugby team? Does playing in tune make you a muso? I am nearly that good and like alcohol-after gigs mind.

check this and get back if interested..

... peeps for the replies. Unfortunately I don't check back here very often so best email.

Muso = someone who wanks over guitar pedals, valve tubes in amps, knows music theory and uses it and stresses out when writing 'the perfect song'.

That ok?

hi - we are looking for...

a drummer like your good self. myspace.com/worldbeforewireless - there are a couple of really really rough tracks up there but are maybe not representative - we're still trying different things. we like good beer, good music and are not adverse to good times either. get in touch if you want to hear more.

ah-thankyou...

muso?

If it wasn’t for ‘wanking’ over fx pedals you would surely not have all those bands listed in your influences? Sonic youth were the biggest Fx twiddlers on the planet!

And drummers can be 'muso' too. They are just good at hiding the ambitious ‘muso’ within. Jumping from band to band like renegade beat keepers. The worst kind are those who jump ship after recording an album with one band, to, cough, give up music.…which just means the next bus has come along for them to jump on. Look at all the ‘we need a new drummer’ ads, on here.

these people would be hitting the walls of a cell if they didn’t have a snare drum to pound. They couldn’t figure out how to plug in an FX pedal, let alone make music out of it. Just look at Guthrie.

I love you really Guthrie. Now for some drummer jokes...anyone?

i play drums

but I have to admit that, because they have no musical key, and can fit in a range of bands easily (unlike a singer or guitar) a lot of my drummer friends are secretly on the look out for the next band because they have little attachment to the actual music and find it easy to swap bands. I have heard all the excuses they use to get out of bands, including the popular lack of ambition/leaving music one mentioned, only to pop up in some other local band a week later. The worst sort of muso is the dishonest one!! I am different though;=)

Come one Rob, give us all an answer

Anyway...

Havew about 1000 rough demos of stuff if anyone wants to hear more.

Need a drummer....

What was that?

I've eaten my eyes in despair, so I'm not sure if you said someting un-nice. DID YOU?!
