Artists: The Bravery
Yes I KNOW you're probably bored of hearing 'An Honest Mistake' already, and yes, singer Sam Endicott's hair (Him with said hair over there. Yeah.) really is quite astonishing but this is to let you know that The Bravery have announced a string of UK dates.

These follow the imminent release of the aforementioned single, released February 28th. It's taken from the Noo Yawk foursome's eponymous debut album due March 14th. Both are on Mercury Records. So there.

The dates, all in May, are as follows:
20th Glasgow Barrowland
22nd Manchester Academy
23rd Leeds Metropolitan Univeristy
24th Bristol Academy
25th Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall
27th Oxford Brookes University
28th London Astoria

Great. Now I've got that fucking song in my head. Bah!

DiScuss: go on, then tell us - who else has the most ridiculous hair in pop? Johnny Borrell? Morrissey? All of Showaddywaddy? Wash 'n' moan below...

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

Yes!

*punches air sarcastically*

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

The Bravery seem rather shit, neo-Smiths rubbish.

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

I love that guys hair, but their music is shite.
I shall not be taken in by them though, can't decided wether they'll be big or not, although theyll be the 'festival breakthrough band', thats for sure.

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

sheesh, barrowlands already, the NME's done well with this one.

the bravery are a bit "bleh", for want of a better word. nowt special.

mmmm his hair is lurvely, i'd copy it if i hadn't gone bald the other week. what a nice looking fellow.

Re: The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

Don't you mean "Noo Yoik"? or are they not actually from brooklyn at all? gawd...

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

all style, no substance

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

will anyone care about the second album

time will tell

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

painfully catchy track tho........

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

i bought tickets to see them in like december time for the koko show, which was originally at electric ballroom. got their EP unconditional when it first came out and really liked it. now its kinda like meh, not overly bothered about seeing them and by all accounts their not very good live! oh well, a gig is a gig.

his brothers are in Good Charlotte, Fact Fans.

regarding the headline:
how many brain-cells did the creation of that kill?
thought i was reading The Mirror for a second.
still i guess it sums up the mediocrity and the 'why bother making an effort' attitude of the music.

Re: The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

Took me ages to come up with that headline. Why is everyone slating this band already? I don't think the new single is that bad & from what I've been told they're pretty decent live.
I would go and see them but as ever there's no East Anglian date. Typical.

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

I like them, so there !

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

Wow... I was expecting a balance of opinion, not near unanimous disapproval. I saw them live the other day (in Bristol) and they were superb. Got the tickets for their return already.

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

did people say "bah!" or "huzzah!" before the internet?

Re: The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

Yes. Now we're bringing it back. Keep it Dickens. Huzzah!

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

The Bravery make boring boring boring music.

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

They are dreadful.

Whenever you hear "ooh this band is SOOOO hot right now!" before you even hear their music, it's usually a sing that you should steer clear. What is it with all these American bands reminding us of OUR shit 80's music?

No one needs to be reminded of Duran Duran, New Order etc...

There was plenty of decent music from the 80's which they could rip off.

Re: The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

OI! There was / is nothing wrong with New Order but Duran Duran suck big time

Re: The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

New order are far from shit! Blue Monday is a seminal track....seminal i tells ya!

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

I'd have to go against this view and say I bloody hate New Order. Duran Duran are the worst, though.

The lead singer of The Bravery was in a ska band 6 months ago. I read into that The Bravery were manufactured. And fast.

Re: The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

If true, that is fucking disgusting.

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

I think the Bravery are alright, but their new song is getting kinda over played

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

hmm might be being cynical but are some people just pouring scorn on this lot as they are easily likeable?

tut tut

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

Tonight Mathew Im going to be The Smiths backed by Duran Duran doing their best television impressions.

Actually I like Honest mistake lol

Re: The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

I see still no one has answered the question I posed at the foot of this article namely go on, then tell us - 'who else has the most ridiculous hair in pop? Johnny Borrell? Morrissey? All of Showaddywaddy?'

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

absolutely fucking dreadful, they're complete nonsense and bring a bad name to the whole Strokes, Interpol thing...this is derivative shit, but not derivative of Velvet Underground, Joy Division - it's a bad copy of a copy...third generation bollocks to be left well alone.

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

okay i'm in a sort of a sticky situation, i can't think of the old 80's bands that The Bravery sound similar to... can anyone help me out?

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

To be fair, they sound like they've been influenced by their NYC contemporaries as much as any band from the past. much like the way that old britpop bands would namecheck the kinks, the small faces, the beatles etc etc and yet most of them sounded like a limp version of oasis. in this way, the bravery work within the framework set down by the strokes (uptempo songs; tight, percussive sound; toppy guitars; zero emotional impact) and add a morrissey-style croon, new order-style off-beat synths and, i guess, a duran duran sheen to the whole proceedings. i hope that helps you joey, and god help you if that's what you consider a sticky situation!

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

"I think the Bravery are alright, but their new song is getting kinda over played"

yeah i agree, but i can think of another band *cough* Killers.

The Bravery announce UK dates. Honest!

It pisses me off that UK record companies have failed to sign a UK band that does this kind of music as good or better than the Yanks.

This is what an american web site said about my band in y2000:

"Sorta electronic rock, taking the best of the 80s and blending it into 90s attitude and harmonies. .... Just goes to show how far the UK will always be ahead, for rock, eh, mates? "

You can read the review here -http://www.musicdish.com/mag/index.php3?id=2170

We have won various battle of the bands and even performed at the Senheiser Artist of the Year Finals yet we've never been seen once by an A&R guy.

We've been using synths for years- not just tacking them on to our sound to make us sound current.
