As with every great establishment, DiS is moving with the times too. Not content with being just an independent mecca of great new music, we're opening up and giving you the chance to read and participate with the site in a number of exciting new ways.

LiveJournal
Many of us have and adore our LiveJournals, being the hub of our internet social lives and the place where we're more 'emo' than anywhere else. Now you can enjoy the convenience of the latest Drowned in Sound news and articles straight to your LJ friends page. Plus, it couldn't be simpler to add the feeds right away!
The following links will take you to the 'info' pages, where you can simply click 'add as a friend' to have the feeds! Click here for news articles only and here for the whole site.
Many thanks to the ever-grand Claire Roberts for the LiveJournal feeds.

Street Team
We've started a street team, to help hand out flyers and cause chaos for DiS. If you can help splash flyers/badges/other things we can maybe afford, around your local area and at gigs you goto. Drop natalie@disrecords.com an email with a bit about yourself, favourite bands, where you goto gigs and your address.

Audioscrobbler
What're DiS readers listening to the most? Join our Audioscrobbler group and find out.
www.audioscrobbler.com/group/DiS.

MySpace
MySpace is a community of people who message each other and post pictures of them looking good. In fact, it's shocking how everyone on MySpace appears to be cute and it makes you feel pretty small once you start looking around the cliques and realising that YOU ARE NOTHING. Well, now you can be something, by joining the Drowned in Sound MySpace group! It's a place for discussion and banter, excellent bulletins and news from Sean and I, as well as a great way to meet like-minded folk whom you can claim to be your friends.
Click here to visit the DiS MySpace group.

RSS Feeds
These bad-boys have been kicking around now, but it's time they got more respect. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) works like an internet headline service, pumping you the latest news, stories and articles from various websites. You can have them delivered to your desktop via a number of third-party 'aggregator' software or even syndicate the headlines via your personal website (don't forget to credit us!).
Click here for the DiS RSS page.

DiScuss: Any suggestions for promoting the site, fire away...

DiS: All over your 'net

I want a badge!

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

We're just getting some more done as we keep running out. They'll be available at our gigs and also free with purchases from our new shop - which'll be online really soon :)

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

how soon is 'really soon'?

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

so do i.

DiS: All over your 'net

This sounds great.

What stuff will we be able to buy?

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

Currently DiS Recordings releases and some t-shirts, just finalising some designs. We're hoping to add more stuff as the store develops.

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

Sounds good.

May join the street team thing as well...

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

DiS: All over your 'net

'Many of us have and adore our LiveJournals, being the hub of our internet social lives and the place where we're more 'emo' than anywhere else'

Urgh

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

Did you not spot the tongue sticking in his cheek?

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

Obviously not!

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

The RSS feed on there is cool though

RSS Bookmarking

How d'you bookmark the RSS links so they work as a pop up menu in firefox?

Re: RSS Bookmarking

to sort of answer my own question...

https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&os=MacOSX&id=361

DiS: All over your 'net

Is the livejournal the blog thing?! Have just made my first entry, gonna use it as my very own gig diary, V useful.

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

You can also use your Drowned in Sound blog to do that :)

DiS: All over your 'net

I know some guys running a great fanzine in Sweden - who would be good guys to run a swedish section of DIS - ditto in Holland and maybe Germany...
maybe expanding on what you already do in these countries???

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

Yeah, we really wanna expand to have drownedinsound.se and .jp etc. I love the way www.indymedia.org sets out its content on a macro and micro level. is something def' we're looking into with the site redesign.

DiS: All over your 'net

yay to the feeds! finally

DiS: All over your 'net

When you say 'site design' do you mean a massive revamp? The site is a bit clunky at times, so it sounds like a good idea. It just needs a better layout. Also maybe change some of the forums so they have the usual layout of other sites so they're more useful.

I'll get a badge and tee when the shop goes online.

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

I want ab adge too, and maybe a t-shirt. Oh I do Love dis.

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

AAAArgh!

I love DiS and I've missed it the past month or so while I've actually had work to do and been busy but I just tried to invite all my band's 2114 'friends' to join the DiS myspace group and it seems they have introduced (a presumably anti-spamming) security measure that only allows you to invite 25 people at a time - how f*kin annoying - it doesn't even let you know who you have and haven't invited.

If you're on myspace write to Tom and ask him to change it back. I'm going to.

And, yeah - I'd like a badge too.

And as for drownedinsound.se;
there are 8 million ppl in sweden - aged 0 - 107
there are 14 million ppl on myspace - aged 16-35 in the main

and EVERYONE in Sweden speaks english, so err, yeah be warned.

Having said that EVERYONE in sweden has super high speed broadband internet and are dying to hear about new - particularly UK - music, so great!

Looking forward ...

DiS: All over your 'net

tee-shirt, yay

DiS: All over your 'net

Don't forget the mighty (and unofficial)

DROWNED IN SOULSEEK ROOOOOOOOOOM.

It's a 24 hour PARTAY, or something.

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

you're obsessed man!

Re: DiS: All over your 'net

psh...

It's addictive as crack, but better than crack, as it doesn't have all the dying and stuff. Just hurty eyes from looking at your screen.

DiS: All over your 'net

if you have badges and stuff in now, definitely worth sending stuff up to me in Manchester for the Club Fandango shows etc...

oh, and everyone check www.myspace.com/fingathing

marvellous

matt
club fandango / tcblive.co.uk

DiS: All over your 'net

...or you could go to the pub where they have 'people' and even live, human 'girls'.

DiS: All over your 'net

i think getting thru to your gig listings people is a pain - always get emails bounced back!

maybe an automated form for adding bands and venues which is then check by you before going live - like the one on brightonlife.com ...
