Smile Around Your Face: Four Tet returns

Kieran Hebden - better known as Four Tet - returns to record-releasing ways in April with a new 12", Smile Around The Face.

The 12", the first material from upcoming album Everything Ecstatic, will be released through Domino. Four Tet appears alongside Steve Reid, Icarus and the Soul Jazz System at The Spitz, London, on April 2nd. Not that telling you that is much use - it's long sold out.

  I haven't really heard anything from him since his album, other than a few remixes. When he does remixes, he doesn't really change much about the song. Don't know what to think of that, exactly.
  
  Anyway, I hope there's something as brilliant as "Hands" and "And They All Look Broken Hearted" on the new album.

  Apparently it's been leaked and is on soulseek already. I prefer to wait for these things though. I've read that it's meant to be a bit of a departure from previous records, but i'm sure it will be fantastic either way.

  I'm not sure which remixes you've heard because most fo the ones I've heard bear little or no relation to the original track, which is often a blessing (e.g. pedro).
  
  But since you refer to 'his album' when he's recorded three as four tet, I can only assuem you don't knwo what you're talking about. What I've heard of the new one sounds great and I can't wait for the gig at the spitz, or the Koko all-nighter.
