The Boxer Rebellion: All You Do Is Talk
by Raziq Rauf
The Boxer Rebellion has returned with another vitriolic splurge of tuneful and emotional indie rock: the song rumbles and tumbles along with near-monotonous guitars peppered with a snarling, rasped refrain.
With a sound that grinds and curls like Richard Ashcroft fronting the Cooper Temple Clause, Nathan Nicholson’s troupe has provided this impressive taster of their forthcoming debut LP. Persuasive and captivating throughout, if there are more like this on the album it there will be more than just talk.

The Boxer Rebellion - All You Do Is Talk
probably the worst track on the album - they're an odd lot - the music itself is midly impressive, butn the vocals are just god-awful. Personally don't see the Kasabian comparison tho. -

TBR are the next big thing. You all just watch. They do the thing we all want, not some small town crappy little english thing. They are top.-
Re: The Boxer Rebellion - All You Do Is Talk
Weren't they supposed to be the 'next big thing' of last year?-
Re: The Boxer Rebellion - All You Do Is Talk
only in the way that 'industry folk' know about it a year before they actually do become the next big thing

Secret Machines are the industry pick arnt they? I think they're crap, won't go anywhere. They remind me of a sharades band, as in each track rips off a different band....Sigur Ros, Polyphonics etc....but TBR seem the real deal. Proper riffs and proper squawking from the singer...Led Zep in disguise......
