Having suffered some financial setbacks last year, Lollapalooza is in fact returning to the festival scene, albeit in a scaled-down form. This year, Lollapalooza '05 will run July 23-24 in Chicago's Grant Park. The band line-up will not be released until late April, and the festival's website will go live on Friday.

Lollapalooza began back in the early 90's and quickly gathered a major following, especially for those looking for more left-field/alternative groups. The festival went on hiatus for about five years between 1998-2002, which allowed other major touring functions like the Vans Warped Tour to step in.
