The record was mixed in Memphis at Ardent Studios and mastered in New York City at Masterdisk (thorough information, non?), and all thirteen tracks were written on piano, acoustic guitar and marimba (though obviously recorded with like, electrics and drums).
That there Jack White has described the record as an exploration of "Characters and Truth."

By the way, they do use bass in a way. Not an actual bass guitar, but a pedal that mimics one.
And can I just ask, who actually ever says 'That is SO (whenever year)'...? i think people who talk like that are seriously sad. Surely, judging your music taste on the year a band is most popular is extremely stupid?
