Music returns to the ornate confines of Somerset House (that's in London, y'know) again this summer.

The powers that be have confirmed that gigs will run from July 5th until July 13th. As yet the line-up is strictly hush-hush, but you can find out before your regular on-the-street punter by signing up to some mailing list or other right here.

I saw Sparklehorse there once, but people wouldn't shut up chattering over the top of him/them, so I barely heard anything. I nearly tossed my over-priced pint at the offending gobshites.

Anyway, full details will be announced officially on Tuesday 26th April, when tickets will also be available from 11am.

I know who it is. Nah nah nah-nah nah. Well, one of the dates. On the 7th.

Somerset House shows return for fifth year

You gave them 4.5 stars and they're above Rammstein in your little list. But don't tell anyone, particularly not the NME.

*dribbles some more*

I've never seen Sigur Ros. Like, ever.
Must.

Re: Somerset House shows return for fifth year

I think you'll find it's Sigur Rós on the 10th. Either way, it's f'ing blinding news.

Somerset House shows return for fifth year

Ok and the 7th is some bloke who used to be in Kyuss' new band supported by the band who aren't the band who sang Hotel California but they would be if they played Death Metal.

Expect the tickets to be extortionate.

And on the 12th 'apparently' .....bloc party will be playing!:-) with The Kills, although this isnt official yet but heard about it on the Bloc Party forum

Re: Somerset House shows return for fifth year

anyone know the capacity for these gigs?

Somerset House shows return for fifth year

All the shows were listed on thisisfakediy.co.uk last time I looked, although they might have been taken down now, dunno. Some good'uns though, can't wait to see the Mars Volta there. Sigur Ros will be totally weird though - expect to not hear anything :(

Also anyone know how much tickets will be? probably 20-ish?

unfortunately, it looks like it'll be super-duper expensive. beats last year's lineup though.

Somerset House shows return for fifth year

Sigor Ros tickets are already on sale - there's a link on their website.

Re: Somerset House shows return for fifth year

(coughs) ahem. that should read Sigur. Sorry

Re: Somerset House shows return for fifth year

So how many support bands can be expected at each gig and does anyone know who they might be? I saw Mars Volta earlier this year but I might go again. QOTSA and Sigur Ros maybe.

Somerset House shows return for fifth year

Eagles Of Death metal are supporting Qotsa. And there's an outside chance DFA1979 might be too.

Somerset House shows return for fifth year

yeah, im keepin tight for queens.
sigur ros, bloc party and doves allready have pre-sales , tickets between £20 and £25, i just hope NME and radio one dont go blabbin shit off before they go on sale and they all go in half an hour.

hmmm mars volta is tempting me too......

Somerset House shows return for fifth year

How many does it hold?

I'm just hoping my ticket for the canelled Queens Koko gig is valid for this, which looks increasingly doubtful if the tickets are around £22.50.

Somerset House shows return for fifth year

all tickets are on presale....

you can buy the qotsa ones allready, juts use the other links and change the name

Somerset House shows return for fifth year

This is shit. Where are Morcheeba?

Somerset House shows return for fifth year

the faint will most likely be supporting bright eyes, as they're doing the whole bright eyes euro tour and making up half of the bright eyes band.

Tickets

Hi.

I just wanted to know if anyone knew of a good place to check for tickets for the Sigur Ros gig. I know, I know, coming along at this stage and expecting tickets. Im a fool!
I'm from Dublin and I've decided to come over for a while and I got tickets for the Bright Eyes gig. But i really really want to see Sigur Ros too.
Any chance somebody could point me in the direction of a site, or buy & sell type thign where I can find tickets?

Thanks you lots.
