"There's one littel surprise left, but we laughed so hard that we won't spoil it for you, except to say that it once and for all disproves the accusation that this band are somehow humourless...the real tragedy is inherently a bit funny."
The new MCR track is insanely catchy and a real progression from anything they've previously brought out. The image is the only thing that puts me off a bit and the fans mostly verge on stalkers
they should be dreary, pasty londoners with a guitar lazily slung over their shoulders, probably just wearing an old tshirt and jeans!
they shouldn't sing, they should mutter and mumble about how being 25 is a bit crap but it's ok really and there should be no real ambition in their music beyond making the bass and the drums sort of similar!
they're just another bunch of whiny late 20-somethings still acting like and targeting the wallets of self-obsessed teenagers by moaning on about their "problems". Problems such as, "What the fuck am I going to do with all this money?"
if you've already gone and booked it, you may as well go along eh? better than sitting in watching Doctors or Midsomer Murders all day, right? (or is that just me?)
my eyesight isnt too hot. But my hearing is fine, and MCR are shite. Self-pitying can't get much more nauseatingly blatant than calling a song "I'm not ok". That new song's dump as well
a disturbing theme of "no-brow" inverted snobbery on this board.
What is wrong with you people? My Chemical Romance are just awful. It's just horrible mawkish cheesy juvenile cheap thrills music. Next will I see a thread praising Fall Out Boy?
I also had the misfortune to see MCR at Reading in 2005 and they were highly irritating live. The lead singer was strutting around the stage trying to incite some audience participation, "everybody after me now....say HO! HO! Say HALLELUJAH"!
Bearing in mind I was legitimately expressing an opinion in a discussion thread, albeit in a fairly bilious & vitriolic way, is there any reason to resort to swearing at me?
huge divine comedy fan, bar about 2 songs off their last lp. i'm not ashamed. and ABBA were great, and really were great. 'i drove all night' by roy orbison was one of the best songs of the 80s.
and the conscious use of the word 'no-brow' reveals a bit too much intellectual snobbery for comfort on the part of the nay-sayers earlier on in the thread. damn you. you nay-sayers.
I think I listened to the first album once and it was bullshit, and the second one had a couple of good catchy tracks but nothing to warrant the global domination and stuff.
Of course, it's all made worse by the fact that there really is nothing worse than the closed minded, spoilt little gobby shit that is too often the MCR fan, I don't care how much they can relate to the music or whatever the reasons they give, the fact that they all try to emulate the dress sense that the band has is fucking ridiculous. Sorry, I'm just absorbing a fresh wave of hate that pissed me off two nights ago when a group of them decided to start booing Oceansize because they were "boring".
That said, I'll probably think the actual singles okay when I hear it.
These days.
He looks like him, he's doing pretentious conceptybobbins like him, he's trying to sing a bit like him, and giving himself a character (ZERO/Glass). Other than this, I think the new single is alright and their old stuff was innoffensive, compared to average indie band X.
both.
they're brilliant.
neither
they do have something different about them to the majoritory of 'emo' bands but they definetly arent the saviours of rock in any way shape or form
they are good, in my opinion
They've written some excellent, melodic songs.
That new video is hilarious.
I don't understanding how anyone can't luagh/cringe without looking at them.
It's pathetic.
laugh*
Grr.
^ true
They're good at writing catchy songs, but my god they take themselves way too seriously.
Rock Music
does not and never has, needed saving.
MCR are fun though.
HMMM- Thinky thinky
That is why emo girls would die for them. We wouldn't even be talking about them otherwise.
i don't understand
they are doing something other than recording themselves playing a song in a studio. it's a great video.
it's
cheesey. but Queen-cheesey, not Rogue Traders-cheesey.
a lot of fun really
their new song's
catchy as fuck.
.
My chemiclol romance.
hahahahaha
i swear people on this forum find LOL everywhere.
it makes me laugh everytime.
I was dissapointed with the new single
after the great ones off the last album.
Panic! or MCR
Panic don't take themselves seriously.
Which is why I think they're better.
NME have given the new MCR album.....
9/10.

It was all a dream?
The new song
is awful, truly truly awful. Horribly awful. And this is from someone who was a fan of the first album. Awful.
Have to disagree with you
The new MCR track is insanely catchy and a real progression from anything they've previously brought out. The image is the only thing that puts me off a bit and the fans mostly verge on stalkers
i haven't heard the new song
still.
The new song is amazing!
It sounds like something from Les Miserables in places (which is of course a great thing) and is ingeniously pretentious!
no!
they should be dreary, pasty londoners with a guitar lazily slung over their shoulders, probably just wearing an old tshirt and jeans!
they shouldn't sing, they should mutter and mumble about how being 25 is a bit crap but it's ok really and there should be no real ambition in their music beyond making the bass and the drums sort of similar!
then they would be great!
wait a minute...
is that... sarcasm?
Well said Raz....
and also call themselves "The" My Chemical Romance!! ...I wish bands would stop calling themselves "The"...
Piss boring.
...
MCR are ace. Was starting to go off them a bit (like y'do when something's played at you every five minutes for months) but the new one's a blinder.
As far as I can see
they're just another bunch of whiny late 20-somethings still acting like and targeting the wallets of self-obsessed teenagers by moaning on about their "problems". Problems such as, "What the fuck am I going to do with all this money?"
truth!
i bet they love cancer now they're rich!
ever actually
listened to/read their lyrics? hardly moaning at all.
the new track
sounds like Queen crossed with The descendents. I dont like it but the video is very funny.
you
obviously can't see too far then, eh?
...
what, as in distance?
yeah, he needs glasses LOL.
....
i'll have you know my eyesight is extremely well developed.
my left eye keeps going a little blurry now and again.
maybe that's why i like my chemical romance?
....
i think you may need to look a little deeper than that.
could be an inner ear imbalance
...
wasn't aimed at you soft lad. it was in reply to the dude who said 'As far as i can see...'
..
ah, good, i'll cancel my opthalmology appointment.
i just booked one!
hell...
if you've already gone and booked it, you may as well go along eh? better than sitting in watching Doctors or Midsomer Murders all day, right? (or is that just me?)
Actually you're right,
my eyesight isnt too hot. But my hearing is fine, and MCR are shite. Self-pitying can't get much more nauseatingly blatant than calling a song "I'm not ok". That new song's dump as well
I have noticed
a disturbing theme of "no-brow" inverted snobbery on this board.

Awful awful get your heads checked.
oh god
people like a band!!!
the band in question are popular??
get fucked mate.
inverted snobbery my arse.
...
and i severely dislike the band in question.
...
Bearing in mind I was legitimately expressing an opinion in a discussion thread, albeit in a fairly bilious & vitriolic way, is there any reason to resort to swearing at me?
you were insulting people
dont get prissy
....
yeah, i reckon there was. I get well angry when people start accusing others of snobbery or elitism just because they dont agree with them.
you told people to get their heads checked
go get fucked
albeit?!
bilious?! vitriolic?! resort?!
the only resort you'll be going to is whitley bay and there the dogs will eat you, SONNY BOY.
inverted snobbery?
that's amazing.
it's like a bluff of a double-bluff, or something.
way to go!
AKA
ironic love of pop bands
it probably looks a bit desperate on a message board/
"no! honest! i really do like girls aloud!"
this article deals with all this bullshit well: http://www.stylusmagazine.com/articles/soulseeking/the-indie-kids-arent-alright.htm
nick southall may not be my favourite writer ever, but at the very least he's honest.
i really do like girls aloud :(
me too :(
snob inverter!

I've always
found them a bit wank, to be honest.
I think I listened to the first album once and it was bullshit, and the second one had a couple of good catchy tracks but nothing to warrant the global domination and stuff.

the singles are not ok
i promise!
They're not oh..
KAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY NNOOOOOWWWWWWaaaah??
Um, damn...
I'm listening to that Black Parade song
It sounds like 'God Gave Rock and Roll to Us', gone all sad.
Bill and Ted, all sad.
Then it goes all Green Day (I HATE THOSE GUYS), for a bit long.
I WANT MY EMO MARCHING BAND BACK
Gerard Way thinks he is Billy Corgan
These days.
He looks like him, he's doing pretentious conceptybobbins like him, he's trying to sing a bit like him, and giving himself a character (ZERO/Glass). Other than this, I think the new single is alright and their old stuff was innoffensive, compared to average indie band X.
