After your normal bedtime you get really tired, but then you go into zombie mode where you can't really think properly.
And then after about 30 hours you just start nodding off and have to hit yourself just to stay awake. When it gets to that point it's not really fun anymore.
up until the 2nd term of my third year, i never started an essay until the day it was due. i'd start at about midnight, hand it in at 9am and then sleep the rest of the day. awesomeness.
the feeling of going back to your room knowing how easy it will be to sleep is just perfect
36 hours, during the World Cup in Japan. It coincided with the Tyson/Lewis fight, so we got up for the 6 o'clock game in the morning, drank all day, watched the fight at about 2 the next morning, and stayed up to watch the football the next day, finally falling asleep at about 6 that evening.
By the end of it, I could only communicate by singing, and had a very vivid daydream that I was masturbating in front of everyone.
...though the longest with no sleep at all was probably about three days. That's a whole world of fun - everything became very dreamlike and disconnected and my vision got all melty. Kind of like I imagine hallucinogens must be, but horribler.
Longest was probably while writing both my dissertations in the same weekend - evening on Friday til about 7am the Tuesday morning (although the Monday was spent almost entirely getting leathered after handing everything in on time).
from 8 on a friday morning til 3 on the sunday morning, minus about 7 hours for time difference. when travelling time goes all over the place. i quite like sleep deprivation sometimes though
I've been up boozing til seven or eight in the morning many times, one time though me and my compadres decided to carry that on through the next day too...went and bought a bottle of vodka at seven, drank that, then called a dealer at about ten and scored some weed...went to the pub in the evening.
It was fucking weird, and to cap it all, a mate from back home decided to pay me a suprise visit. Must have thought I'd totally flipped
about 32/33 or something, in my old job.
It mormally involved going to a club, getting back about 5:30am, wash, change clothes, eat breakfast, get to work at about 7:30, leave at 4pm, get home and sleep.
Probably couldn't put a time on it, but by the end I was a mental wreck.
I never get much sleep anyway, it's getting a serious problem. It just takes me so long for my mind to switch off.
On the weekend I went to Rome (Ukraine, football) and got two hours of sleep on friday, and two the next day (we couldn't find a hotel, so I had to sleep in a doorway...) but somehow I just wasn't tired. Waaay too much caffeine I think.
at the Leeds Festival 2001. I felt ok towards the end, but then fell asleep crushed up against people at Rocket From The Crypt. This may mean that RFTC suck, but I doubt it.
Me and my friend Ewan tried to stay awake for 48 hours to see if we'd hallucinate. We didn't, but MY GOD did it hurt. My eyes got so sore, and i just felt like death. Not reccomended, kids.
concering the hallucinations.
me and my friend, when we were in france, ate a whole wheel of cheese together, before bed time, to see if we;d get nightmares.
didn't.
Came back home, crawled into my lovely bed at about 8.30am. 15 mins later, some kitchen fitters turn up. On a SATURDAY. I couldn't drown out the banging and drilling, so went round my mates to kip on his sofa. That didn't happen. Stayed up all day, went out that night and got to bed at about 3am
I think it was about 42 hours. Weirdly, I didn't seem to suffer much due to it. I wont be doing it again in a hurry though
without drugs,
probably about 27 hours. couldnt do more tho
about 37-38
not good.
.
i've gone through two nights without sleep .... not sure how long that is
12 hours
Staying awake sucks.
24 hours.......
it really did suck. a lot.
We did a sponsored stay-awake once
I managed 36 hours. But then I fell asleep while watching Blackadder.
I did that once
it was stupid really though, stay up all night then go home and waste the day asleep.
and about 36 I would think.
Yeah

I can barely go 6 hours without sleep now
If I lie down on a sofa or a bed now
my brain's natural instinct is to fall asleep. I'm long past the stage where staying up all night seems like a good idea.
</oldmancentric>
.
bout 36 hours at latitude festival probably, I'm usless though.
Hi I'm new.
interesting
36 hours seems to be the wall...
3 days
at the electric picnic last year.
It wasn't a daydream
I used to get really bad insomnia...

I remember it well...
Longest was probably while writing both my dissertations in the same weekend - evening on Friday til about 7am the Tuesday morning (although the Monday was spent almost entirely getting leathered after handing everything in on time).
Not recommended. Ever.
I've had an hour
of sleep for each of the past two nights. It's going to catch up with me at the football tonight.
About 40 hours
It's not something I wish to do again.
Sleeping is just too damn good.
i'm on 24 at the moment
i'm gunning for 72.
Around 40ish usually
but only thanks to certain stimulants.
probably
from 8 on a friday morning til 3 on the sunday morning, minus about 7 hours for time difference. when travelling time goes all over the place. i quite like sleep deprivation sometimes though
Without even a blink of sleep
36 hours.
But at my first T in the Park I went 70 hours with 2 hours shut-eye.
It would be fair to assume that drugs were involved.
actually
on re-calculation, it was 60 hours. I'm not a mental.
half an hour
give or take five minutes

I think that's my limit. Sleep is too nice.
about 36-40 hours
we did it for a laugh.
Man did it hurt.
i'm at about 28 now
and i'm beginning to feel really crappyyyyy
about 20
I've fallen asleep standing up before. I'm not very good at being awake.
Waay too long
Probably couldn't put a time on it, but by the end I was a mental wreck.

My mum
stayed awake for 72 hours solid whilst in labour with me! she started to hallucinate and thought she was in an aeroplane.

about 3 days in Prague
I giggled a lot - who needs drugs? Though actually sleeping was a bit traumatic afterwards
About
30 hours
This summer
Me and my friend Ewan tried to stay awake for 48 hours to see if we'd hallucinate. We didn't, but MY GOD did it hurt. My eyes got so sore, and i just felt like death. Not reccomended, kids.
I did this after NYE
It was funny.
on that trail on thought
concering the hallucinations.

Went out one weekend a few months back
Came back home, crawled into my lovely bed at about 8.30am. 15 mins later, some kitchen fitters turn up. On a SATURDAY. I couldn't drown out the banging and drilling, so went round my mates to kip on his sofa. That didn't happen. Stayed up all day, went out that night and got to bed at about 3am
