Pete Yorn ropes in Dave Grohl for new LP

Friend of the stars, and also musician, Pete Yorn, is off to work in the studio recording his third LP. Among those lined up to appear on it are the Dixie Chicks and ubiquitous guest-appearance-maker, Dave Grohl.
Expected in the Autumn, the as-yet-untitled LP will also feature guest performers that include the Wallflowers' Rami Jaffee and Beachwood Sparks' Dave Scher.Yorn says 24 songs have been recorded but it will not end up being a double album. "The recording process was a roller coaster ride filled with moments of triumph as well as frustration," He proclamied. "It has now come together as something that I am extremely proud of and could not have done on my own."
Yorn's first LP was really really good. His second sold 400,000 records. It wasn't as good though.

This is sorta unrelated, but does anyone care for the Foo Fighters new single? I think it's called "the best of you," or something like that. Doesn't matter, though, cos it ain't good.-

Yea, very true. I loved the first one, but he seemed to go all dad-rock and gap advert like on the somophore one.-

Still, a handful of decent tunes. Not a total washout.

I once had the pleasure of meeting Yorn, lovely man.
He was quite bitter about people accusing him of only being famous because of his elder brother Rick, the agent to the stars (Di Caprio, Diaz, etc).
It's probably true enough though, otherwise how come his songs are in every other Hollywood movie?-

sweet! when did you get to meet him? I can see why he would be bitter about the accusations but yah it is pretty obvious but it's like the saying goes "it's not what you know it's who you know" same thing for the strokes julian casablancas and his dad with the famous "Casablancas " modeling industry and the wallflowers jacob dyllan to his dad. i still like the strokes and a couple of the wallflowers are all right so i guess the saying is correct

it dont matter if yer dad is the head EMI...you either write great songs ...or you suck. the fact of the matter is that yorn's songs are fucking brilliant , PERIOD. Grohl knows it, robert pollard knows it, and his mum knows it. good day.
