God this day couldnt get better could it?
Sorry but they are not funny whatsoever - can people not yet see that!-
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
because obviously, your sense of humour is the only sense of humour in the world.

how do you click there? -
Gervais returns to XFM
Look I cant like everything I'm 'meant' to like - I can deviate from the pack if that's ok - I think Gervais is overrated- is that ok, Dick Cheney?-
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
tee hee hee.
"i'm just so fuckin different MAAAAN. Stop trying to pigeonhole me! I am not a MACHINE!" -
Gervais returns to XFM
the only funny thing about ricky gervais is that he doesn't need to act in the office, he is actually david brent.
and even that's not that funny, just a little bit sad. -
Gervais returns to XFM
Yes you have decoded everything correctly there- that is exactly what I was trying to say - I'm Gordon Comstock really aren't I?
Its just an opinion or am I meant to mention just exactly where I was when the Twin Towers fell AND when I first saw the Office Party Dance-
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
You're worried that people think that you're un-American coz you don't like Ricky Gervais? But the American's were so not bothered about him that they didn't even ask him to be in their version of The Office.

Gervais returns to XFM
erm...no?-
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
well i reckon gervais is quite a character, cringeworthy but still quite funny.. if thats ok with you. i'm sorry, for what its worth. -
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
so you don't think he is funny - fine. it takes different strokes. but why the need to come onto this news story and go...
"why does nobody GET it - he's not funny"
you can't help but come across as slightly pretentious when you say stuff like that. it's your opinion, fair play, but no need to take the condescending tone - you think he's shit, but you are by no means right. its not a question of people "getting it" that he is or isnt funny.-
Gervais returns to XFM
His XFM show, from what I've heard of it, was shit, bar the odd decent gag which he and Steve Merchant would drag out over half an hour...
The Office was great, though. I wouldn't say funny, coz I found much of it genuinely upsetting! Having worked for a downward spiralling manufacturing company on a windswept (literally, it was like a fucking Dave Lee Roth video) business park in Macclesfield*, I can say, hand on heart, much of was basically true...

Me likes Ricky Gervais. Me no trust people who don't. Me thinks they a bit weird. -
Gervais returns to XFM
of course the REAL star of their radio show was always Karl Pilkington, the producer.
i reckon Gervais would probably admit that too.-
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
Agreed. -
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
I was going to say exactly the same thing. guess you beat me to it. -
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
The original XFM show Ricky did, before being sacked when Capital took over, was comedy genius, as anyone who remembers "Tip the Balance" will tell you. These days he knows he doesn't have to try so hard, so he relies mostly on poking fun at Karl.
It's still the funniest show on the radio though - how can anyone not laugh at Karl's description of "the boy with a horse in his house"? Or the time he was doing the washing-up and saw a naked woman through the window... Go listen, you won't regret it. I promise!-
Gervais returns to XFM
Brilliant sitcom actor/writer.
Not quite as good radio DJ.
Funny people do not always play the best records. But they are often funny to make up for it. -
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
I don't think anything's ever topped the original Tom Binn's Xfm breakfast show. I don't know who got rid of him but they deserve to have 'FUCKTARD' tattooed onto their forehead. Possibly in reverse so they read it in the mirror.-
Gervais returns to XFM
Gervais is God! Genuinely. -
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
one might think learning to use the 'Reply to this post' link might make you seem like less of a dunce, though. if anything, you were the one having a go at people for having a sense of humour. So, to use your device, you're the Dick Cheney. for the record, i'm not particularly enamoured towards Ricky Gervais either way. -
Re: Gervais returns to XFM
Did he do Sunday Mornings about 4 years ago? If so he was very good - maybe they thought Lauren Laverne needed more airtime for her groundbreaking music and comedy experience

Over-rated
I gave his show a few listens, but it was never all that good. Mostly just him talking about how he hangs out with Jonathan Ross, and an excuse for Karl Pilkington to flex his ego on the air.
Once they even did the whole thing pre-recorded, complete with references to "oh, it's 20 past 1, but actually it's 20 past 8 on Thursday night" and so on. Sub-student radio rubbish. -
Gervais returns to XFM
ricky gervais - still a thousand times funnier than you. and always will be.
