New Order release this Scissor Sisters collaboration (Ana Matronix shares vocal duties here) holding the status of an ageing band whose recent ‘average’ album is a whole bunch better than your regular band’s. Here they beat Kylie at her own game, with wonderfully laconic vocals laid over a vivacious and cavalier pop track featuring an interesting sample of an air hostess seeming a bit filthy. It is, obviously, not quite as good as anything they’ve done before but if they can merely follow their self-made How To Make An Ace Pop Record design and produce this, they evidently don’t need to be.

New Order are one of those bands with such an amazing back catalogue they don't need to record something as forgettable as this. Maybe its time they retired on the proceeds of 'Blue Monday' and 'Technique' once and for all.
Re: New Order - Jetstream
I get the feeling that New Order keep making records/touring because they need to - both as guys who've never really done anything else, and for financial reasons.
Not really a fan of Jetstream. The album's not great, but it works better as a whole record than if you just hear odd songs off it. Sounds like the Lightning Seeds, though! I was kind of hoping for some stuff along the lines of Here To Stay, that seemed like a better direction to be going in than this, especially as they claimed it would be less "guitar-y" than Get Ready. (If i remeber rightly!)

It is pretty.
