Ah, time was when all bands tried to sound like this. Not Everyone’s insidious four chord riff grabs you by the scruff of the neck like an angry father and drags you over three and a bit minutes of madly exciting scowl-rock. A quite simply fantastic pop song dressed in lo-fi grunge threads, it stands out perfectly in a current climate of bands who spend a bit too long styling their hair.

It may be lazy reviewing but it’s almost impossible to describe Nine Black Alps’ music without mentioning the N-word; they even wear plaid shirts for heaven’s sake. But they tap into the power of Seattle’s early nineties renaissance in a way that someone like the Vines never did, not least because Sam Forrest has a far better voice. ‘Hey, you’re not the first, you’re not the last’ indeed. But for now it’ll do just nicely.

You can hear an exclusive stream of a bonus track from the single in the DiS media section now!

Nine Black Alps - Not Everyone

karaoketastic!

Nine Black Alps - Not Everyone

Pretty awful this song is. Nirvana they want to be. Cringeworthy find it you may.

Re: Nine Black Alps - Not Everyone

Aaaaah.! A Weezer fan. That explains it.

Nine Black Alps - Not Everyone

the thing that i fucking hate about Nine Black Alps is that every time i click on a link ANYWHERE on the web i cannot view any video or listen to any mp3 (like the one currently on DIS homepage) without joining their mailing list. I am vaguely interested in the band but get totally put off with this. It really pisses me off. Other bands don't do it they just let people listen and view without any obligation to get junk mail for the rest of your life. I know this is down to the record label (universal) and aint really the bands fault, but it's still complete turd

Nine Black Alps - Not Everyone

I don't think this song is as good as their others. It's OK, just not amazing.
