A little while ago we teamed up with the good folks at the world's top independent digital download store, KarmaDownload, and after a few teething problems (read also: waiting for new version of DiS to launch in July!) we're very excited to announce our first compilation-come-playlist selector of the best music of the month of May 2005!

Our aim is simple: to do what we do with the site and rummage around to find you the very best new music. The idea is each one is an overview of the month's best new releases and new bands. We hope you like it. We hope to build from this and offer some more exclusive type stuff on future playlists hand-compiled by us pesky DiS kidz.

For our first attempt, we've got odd pop shapes from Spoon, the joyous sound of the return of Brighton's daydream ensemble Electrelane, notorious new London band Dustins Bar Mitzvah, much talked about Lutonians Battle with their sold out Fierce Panda debut single and the summerier than a 99 The National.
