C'est confirmed... The Mars Volta control this December's Nightmare Before Christmas ATP Festival down at the sandy oasis that is Camber Sands Pontins. Mmmm... I can taste the avant-garde rockisms right NOW.

The festival runs from December 2nd to the 4th. Tickets are on sale NOW, like, TODAY, from PLACES, like this one.

Seriously, though, it's an impressive line up so far. I mean, I have a good time whenever I go, but this is a lot more impressive at this point than, say, last year's December event, no?

yeah fair enough.
I'm developing this really naughty ATP veteran attitude that the 'proper' ATP is the one thats between Feb-April whenever they decide and not the December. This is obviously ridiculous as I go to all of them, but idiocy is an important part of my decision process.

Be sure to check out Kill Me Tomorrow, they have supported the Blood Brothers on numerous occasions in the states,they are a fantastic kinda Rapture-ish band.

I've never been ID'd. My short chode like friend has wasn't id'd. It's not too strict to be honest. We were both t least 18 but still...he doesn't look it at all.

The thing is though, if it were say just a gig that I'd paid 10 to 20 pounds for I'd risk it, but the fact is that this would cost me loads of money which I dont want to risk given the fact that I may not get it back if I get checked. But to contradict that, however, has anyone ever got ID'd, I'm 18 in March and so look about that age and so it might be alright. Hmmm, I'll have to make a decision.

actually im v. tempted by this so i hope it doesnt sell out automatically. i'd love to see so many of those bands.

You only need to book in twos this year - the festival organisers will pair your pair with another pair... if that makes sense.

So you'll be in a four-bed chalet, but you'll only need one other mate to make a booking.

Which is a good idea, I think. It's unlikely you'll be matched with nutters, considering the avergae ATP crowd.

Well their own band might be a load of self indulgent shite, but that's a good lineup.

Les Savy Fav are playing in Japan this year. So I don't know if they're really on hiatus.

I'm seeing Acid Mothers Temple and Enablers tomorrow. Wheeheeooooo.

Les Savy Fav are the greatest live band on the planet. No questions. And the tickets-pairs is a good idea too. I'd like to go, but I realised last year exactly how far Rye is from Newcastle, and it isn't good.
