Gruff Rhys: taking candy from a lion? Second album news...
Posted:
Super Furry Animals singer Gruff Rhys is to release his second solo album early next year.
Candylion is to be preceded by a single of the same name on December 4. The single will be backed by the songs 'Colossal Smile' and 'Somewhere Or Other'.
Rhys is to tour in February; before that, he'll support The Flaming Lips on a couple of their November dates, namely at the Glasgow SECC on November 10 and London's Hammersmith Apollo on November 14.

this is good news
Rhys' solo stuff pisses on the later material SFA have been churning out.
Permitting the other members to sing lead vocals was always going to put a big downer on things.
I have high hopes for solo albun #2 and am still yet to see Rhys perform solo.

bullshit.
sfa are brilliant. and so is he. i love it all!

Woo hoo
more tunes from the genius.
I thought SFA'S latter stuff has been very good, i really liked some of the tracks sung by different members of the band.
News on a new SFA album would be great too, they only released one single off the last album. -
Nah, Sex War & Robots is one of my favourite SFA songs
and he doesn't sing it.

SFA's last album
was excellent still, but a bit too mid-tempo in places... I'd like to see them do a techno-surf album.

Techno surf
sounds awesome! They'd be good at that!
