The be-ootiful Schla La Las are back with a second demo offering, featuring three happy, sunny, smiley saturday night dancing tunes. Fuzzy guitars, harmonies, girls shouting, and (wooo!) a handclap break! I love handclaps. And I love coordinated band costumes. Especially in black and white with supercool millinery. These girls should be made into action figures.
'Are You Ready?' is an anthem for all the girls getting ready to hit the town... lipstick on wine glasses, jewellery boxes with beads spilling out, waiting for nail polish to dry as the taxi pulls up outside... it's excited, disarmingly honest, gorgeously simple femme-pop.
There's quite a lot of bands doing this kind of stuff at the moment, from The Detroit Cobras and The Come Ons to the 5678's and The Pipettes, but The Schla La Las are still a great example of the genre. It would be nice to hear what they would come up with given the chance to create some more polished recordings, and with several summer festival appearances on the cards maybe that chance will come sooner rather than later.

We run one story on the Killers and our hits grow even more, people click around and shebang! Someone buys something they've never even heard of.
It works, people have told me it works and we need to make sure it keeps working.
