I do like Steve Lamacq but everyone else on here prob loathes him! I hate anyone on Radio bloody Cornwall or Jo Whiley. I just don't like the woman... so much for sisterhood!
Mark Lamarr on Radio 2, the rock'n'roll and reggae shows are both excellent. John Peel still essential listening. Andy Kershaw, Radio 3, Sunday nights.
Xfm is fucking shit except for odd moments like Ricky Gervais' show. The playlist has about 10 songs on it all i ever hear is fucking Keane or Snow Patrol. The best radio shows are The Breezblock, The Late Junction, John Peel... and Women's Hour
Without doubt John Kennedy's X-Posure Part 2 on Xfm is the best place to hear new music on the radio.
On any one show you could hear Rodney P, the Earlies, Andy C, Mark E (Smith), Razorlight, DFA (1979 &/or James Murphy) TV on the Radio, Maximo Park, Dresden Dolls, The Rocks, The Rakes, The Go-Betweens, The White Stripes, Etienne de Crecy and, well, you get the idea..
I've spent a few minutes trying to think of how to compare Kennedy, John Peel and Zane Lowe, but I just realised its a bit pointless. They all love their music, which is all you need really.
Is the Breezeblock still happening on Monday nights ?
I put it on last week for what should have been the live set and it was someone being interviewed.
I'm copying a 3 figure amount of ones I've recorded for someone I know in return for a favour. Good to hear them again, Squarepusher and Cornelius are still personal faves from it.
Football phoneins up here are a good laugh, all kinds of paranoid conspiracy theories and general hatred on display.
Re: Radio Shows - the Best & Worst?!
