Take opener 'Fire', a towering inferno of jauntiness that is as simplistic as it is infectious, complete with contagious "woo-hoos" throughout. Although second track 'I'm Feeling Happy' suffers for its lack of a bona fide hook, it does give you a chance to appreciate singer Gerry, whose voice is so guttural you half expect cigarette butts and used needles to pour from his mouth.
However, it is the closing 'I Hate The Summer' which will still be ringing around the ears when the wintry nights began to draw in once more. Although the music press would have us to believe it's currently the Summer of Ska, (or is it still the 'Revenge of the Grunge?', I didn't get the memo), it's hard not to enjoy how the track skanks along like The Coral re-writing 'Ghost Town' as a paean to the revulsion of sunnier days.
They may be a car crash of sounds, but when a band smash with such dastardly animation, you can't help but watch intently.
