Whilst not being a huge fan of the man, I've spent a long time defending him because of what I perceive as a bunch of parasites that surround him.

I am gradually finding it harder and harder to do this.

I think Pete Doherty is a living disaster and I like him even more for that. Early fans are turning is back on him and soon new fans, who are just in it for the pause, will do the same. He then will be a very sad and very lonely boy and he'll play 'You can't put your arms around a memory' in some dirty rag for a pint and a plate of chips. The story of rock is paved with bodies of losers... here's one of them. Poor kid.

Anyone who understands the industry knows that the bands are paying to play at Live 8 as they were at Live Aid 20 years ago.

Why the fuck shouldn't they get anything out of it? Is the point of playing a show to make people not buy your music (in some cases I believe that's to be true) or to get people to enjoy themselves and pay for the service of it?

Anyone who doesn't want to be successful and then has a go at some who does is a dick with a serious dog in a manger complex.

I'm sure Johny Razorlight organised all the advertising, or maybe it was the record company? Who knows.

i don't really see the big deal with record companies advertising their bands' albums after said bands' biggest possible live performance. Of course they're going to try to sell more albums- it's called business....

My stepdad, having watched Live8 in its entirety on Saturday, has decreed that Pete Doherty is "total shite". And my stepdad knows quality: he once saw Hendrix play live.

I was at live 8 and it was a great show. In terms of Pete, well that guy is a joke, why doesn't he do us a favour and blow his brain out or let Kate do it.....hang on that sounded a bit familiar, have I seen that about 10/11 years or so ago in Seattle............

One thing to bands like Razorlight and all those bands who profited from the gig, go to Africa yourself and think why you were there.
