Give me some. Either proper X-Mas songs like 'Fairytale of New York', or just Christmas/winter sounding songs like Bjork's 'Frosti'

The latter is brilliant.

'It's Cliched To Be Cynical At Christmas' is a much better HMHB xmas song.
Fuck it - I'm gonna JAG!
Cherryade Records are releasing an album of alternative Christmas songs very soon.
It'll feature Christmas songs by various alternative acts (I don't actually know who yet - I know the Bobby McGees are gonna be on there but haven't been told the rest of the tracklisting) but it will include a song called "I'll Be Getting a Divorce for Christmas" by, erm, me.
It can be heard here:
www.myspace.com/tradinginsults
I know
some of the Cherryade Xmas compliation line-up but I'm not sure if it's general knowledge so I'll keep a lid on it for now.
It will be ace though.
I'm sure it will.
I'm pretty sure the line-up isn't general knowledge yet. I think I've been told some of the other acts who are on it but I've forgotten who!
i have heard this live
when it wasn't christmas at all.
well, it's christmas all year round! what am i saying?
You mean "Divorce for Christmas"?
Yeah - I wrote it for Christmas last year then seemed to keep playing it occasionally ever since.
I feel that self-pity sounds good at any time of the year...
Applicants are on it!
I like that Applicants song.
I really do.
The Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping

Last year,
Mat MBA took me to see Embrace. They surprised me by not only being not shit, but also by doing an incredible cover of 'I Believe In Father Christmas'. Seek it out. It's ace.
Great Christmas music
Great to see recognition for 65 Days of Static's superior "I'm Dreaming of a White Noise Christmas". At www.myspace.com/unwashed1 I'm taking votes for a festive fifty of purely festive (xmas-themed) records if any of you want to leave a message there with your personal top three.
Some good stuff in this list. Can I also suggest "Burst Noel" by Malcolm Middleton.
Gling Glo by Bjork
Definitely
the Spector album, as mentioned up there ^^

chris T-T
100 000 turkeys
I've only just started listening to Goldrush...
and there is a song called 'Each Moment In Time' on their Ozona LP. I swear, it'll be the song of my christmas 2006, it's absolutely gorgeous and very fitting for the christmas season. It isn't a christmas song, there are no references to it but the song works so well as one. Deserves to be bigger than Jingle Bells.

Christmas Album is a regular in my stereo at this time of year. It's lovely.
Also Stargazer by The Zephyers sounds like winter in aural form to me. It's a beautiful song.
