Artists: Supergrass
DiS quite happily believes that Supergrass are one of the best festival bands of our time. You know nearly all the songs, you can't help but dance and jump around - if the sun is shining, the 'grass are top festival fodder. The band are now keen to show a different side and thusly embark on an acoustic tour this August.

Supergrass' new record 'Road to Rouen' is released August 15th - here are the dates:

August
8 Manchester Royal Northern College of Music
9 Glasgow Oran Mor
10 Birmingham Glee Club
11 Brighton Komedia
13 Oxford Playhouse
16 Leeds City Varieties
17 London Hammersmith Working Men's Club

Bollocks to that, they're an outstanding band.

I do reckon Supergrass' best acoustic songs are their best. Cases in point: Moving, Late In The Day, It's Not Me. do they have better songs? I submit that they do not.

er, Richard III, Sitting Up Straight, Lose It, Never Done Nothing Like That, Strange Ones etc etc

Supergrass acoustic it to the masses

Easily one of the best British bands.
How many others from the Brit Pop era have been so consistently good since 1995?
They're still fab live, I saw them in Liverpool a few weeks back.

I really like Supergrass' first three albums. I probably wouldn't go see them live now, but I really like the records. Especially 'In It For The Money'. THE BRASS. THE BRASS.

Every time I have seen Supergrass live, it has been great fun, but they have essentially been a bit shit. Admittedly I didnt see them really early on in their career but they aren't really a great live band from my experience. Supporting Coldplay the other day they were bordering on dull (though as they say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em).

HOWEVER very much looking forward to seeing them do this acoustic thing in Brighton on the 11th - can't wait to hear It's Not Me close up.
