How much rock can one Sunday take? This Sunday (17th July) will be taking the following:

Part Chimp
Bilge Pump
The Wow
Thee More Shallows
Hey Colossus
Headquarters
Blood Red Shoes
Querelle
The Arm
Itch
Hotplate
Yuchi
Charlottfield
Econoline
Montana Pete

Where? When? How? I'll tell you: this Sunday the forces of Jonson Family and Noisestar combine to present a most epic event at The Yacht Club on the River Thames (nearest tube: Temple). Doors are at around 2 with the first bands on at 3; closing time's when we fall overboard. DJs come courtesy of Silver Rocket and your very own DiS.

Advance tickets cost just £6.50. Really. So you should probably buy a lot from here. See you there! (Pirate garb optional, but wear an eyepatch at least, eh?)

Bonus Rock!

The night before the boat party DiS is again hooking up with Silver Rocket and Noisestar for Cut And Paste at The Buffalo Bar. You know the score by now: great live bands, great DJs, great times. This Saturday features Macrocosmica, F*ck Off Machete and Hey Colossus. More information and ticket info from the club's website.

Magnificent! Let the noise begin! Part Chimp are just shockingly good live, thus everyone with a propensity to kidney rattling loudness should go.

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-dayer...

I can vouch for the Wow and Bilge Pump being rather delicious too.

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK a

ohhhh, THIS sunday!? The same weekend as Glade fest? Grrr
(At least Trencher & Charlottefield are there too I spose..)

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK a

the same day as the tin pan alley fest? fukk.

Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-dayer...

Agreed about Bilge Pump - still don't think they've been able to translate their live sound too well onto record yet but DAMN, they're amazing live. Plus the drummer has to be seen to be believed...

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK a

the next Bilge Pump album will be a winner

Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-dayer...

Agreed again, Bilge Pump are great live, and it could well be a showcase of stupidly good drummers, with the Charlottefield drummer there as well. Woo hoo!

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-dayer...

For the record, the new Charlottefield album is AMAZING.
Expect a glowing DiS review sooner or later.
This gig/these gigs will be brilliant; I really advise anyone with a passing interest to check out the likes of Itch, Montana Pete, Bilge Pump, The Wow... really great, great bands playing for next to nothing so often and ignored by so many so wrongly.

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-dayer...

honestly, montana pete are one of this country's great bands and no one knows! all their records are free as well. GENIUS.

Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-dayer...

Agreed yet again. The Charlottefield album is amazing, and I am looking forward to reading the review. The amount of people I have told about the boat gig is stupid, yet the majority of them I know won't go to the gig. Oh well, there loss, and £6.50 for a ticket! Its under 50p per band. Ha!

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-dayer...

Replied under wrong post, oops!?!

What more motivation do you need?
BUMP!

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-dayer...

gonna be fun, if it's like today it's going to be hot, so everyone coming should wear speedos and dive in the thames between bands.

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-dayer...

Everyone should wear Speedos, period.

This still stands.

Please tell anyone who was thinking of coming.

Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-d

Really, really sad this has been cancelled. Got my ticket ages ago, as I was looking forward to seeing many of the bands, like Querelle, Charlottefield, Bilge Pump, Hey Colossus, who I have seen before. I expected the others to be equally as good too.
Such a shame as I expect loads of hard work went into organising this. The organisers and bands must be very pissed off!
I hope it is just a postponement, and that a venue where the people hiring it out are not 'cunts' can be found for it next time.

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-d

sorry for the sweary nature of my post earlier, but we're all massively annoyed. come along to the buffalo bar tonight and have some rock with hey colossus, macrocosmica, and the sweary machete band.

glad you knew it was off before you travelled though.

Re: Rock the boat! Part Chimp and more play ROCK all-d

HAHAHA... shame about Macrocosmica.
T'was a weekend of musical woe and no mistake.
At least the HC boys were on fuckin' fire.
