As if they never went away, Birmingham's Editors return in double quick time to remind us just why they are THE singles band of 2005.
Whilst not being as immediate as 'Munich' was, 'Blood' follows in the footsteps of both its predecessors in that sure enough, the musos out there have something to moan about. No doubt spotting the odd Peter Hook bassline here or an Edge (U2) bottom stringed A# there, but regardless of any reference points from bygone days, the Editors' sound is distinctive and instantly recognisable.
Surely if that isn't the sign of a potentially great artist, then what is?

As Joy Division
How come Jet are shit but all these JD rip-off bands aren't?
*coughs*
Re: Editors - Blood
I'll therefore take back the above statement.

They are nowhere near as good as Interpol. You just cannot compare the quality of songs on "The Back Room" to "Turn On The Bright Lights" or "Antics".
The back room to me seems to have followed a very shallow song writing formula. The songs are short and catchy, yes, but at the end of the day there is not much substance.

Yeah you are right,i played the back room after playing substance and they dont sound(much)alike.
