-

Heard them for the first time on Jools Holland
They're pants,
Unclean pants.
-

oh my god im so excited i cant wait for this album to come out!! x
-
the view, the view, the view
aaaaa-aa-aaaare (stretch it for three syllables)...shite
-
haha!!
-
jesus
how depressing. they are beyond bad.
-
I've not heard a note
but when you see that an album boasts of being produced by a guy responsible for Oasis and The Verve, your heart just sinks.
-
wouldnt buy the album
but think they have some catchy melodies which a lot of people (who don't really know music) will instantly hook onto (no pun intendeed).
The little tikes will probably do quite well for now.-
crap
why does crap like this get reported? Shit band and bunch of dickheads!
-
But Dotherty likes them
therefore its news
-
You lot are such arseholes...especially you Jammin (if that is your real name)
...how fucking pathetic do you sound with your "people who don't really know music" jibe. And Silentcommand's clearly got his head up his arse, or maybe Mike Diver's. What's your problem with these lads? Unless you've seen them live, you'll have only heard 2 songs - and whilst they're clearly not the bollox (the singer's voice jars me a little) the amount of abuse you've just dished out is hardly justified. Shame they didn't stay on a tiny label and sing about death and all the wrongs in the world, maybe you would have liked them then.
-
i have seen
them live.
Bad very bad!
-
Fuck you !
Prick !!
It's an opinion which I'm entitled to just like anyone else on here.
I personally believe that this band have nothing special to give but a lot of people out there in everyday radio land will probably like it (i.e like the fratellies / Razorlight blah blah). If you read my post I didn't say I liked them or disliked them but picked up that they have catchy melodies. You may be a fan but that doesn't mean I have to be. -
Dude, they aren't good
and if they didn't support babyshambles you probably wouldn't give a fuck either
-
Dude?
I can't stand Babyshambles and I'm really not a fan of the View either, it was just that this post typified everything that is wrong with this site, i.e. total snobbery towards slightly popular music that is hyped (the 'we can't like this bunch cos nme said they're great' attitude). It's not their fault that certain magazines are up their arses and the fact is, they're getting quite big, that's why it's news. Cunt.
As for you jammin, you're opinion that 'people who don't know music' will like them makes you sound really small-minded and pathetic, that was my point. Thank god we don't live in your world where you need knowledge to enjoy music. Knobhead.
-
I don't just dislike bands cause they're in nme
I dislike them cause they're crap, I really like a few of the bands the nme harp on about (Kasabian, there I said it) but everyones entitled to their opinion, you just seem to have taken opinions as a personal attack on you. Relax
-
Well,
claiming i liked them because they supported Babyshambles riled me, as it would anyone. That was a personal attack.
Stick up for Kasabian in the future.
-
There's never news about them here
-
lets just end this
the view are fucking terrible *but the album with go platinum*
* IMO
OK!
-
and besides
why would I stick up for them, they're big boys and have been slagged before, I'm sure they can deal with it.
-
-
-
-
Yeah sorry mate..
next time i'll make sure to agree with everything you have to say.
-
...?
That doesn't even make sense - argue your case, don't get all sarcastic on me. I never said you should agree with me, i just took exception to your musical facism.
X
Cunt - this is the point, if you like them you should stick up for them...they get a whole load of panning on this site and I don't hear you risking kudos by backing them...
Moodiejg - you asterisked(?) the wrong section, surely.
-
I don't need to back them up
they seem to be doing ok without me and I can see why people dislike them.
It's not like me saying 'You're wrong, Kasabian are good' is going to change anyones mind
And what do I care about kudos? I don't live in England and am unlikely to meet people off here. I come here for entertainment, not valadation.
-
No, but when people say
"Kasabian are wank etc..." surely the fact you think they're good would inspire you to get your point across, no?
-
no
cause it's there opinion, I have my taste in music and if people don't agree I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.
-
Ok, I'm bored now...but i'll be keeping any eye on you...
...
-
a threat
on the internet!
genius.
-
How do you know that's a threat..?
I might fancy him/her...
-
Keeping an eye om me
Why?
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
ok ok ok...chill out!!
Look I'm gonna rewrite the whole thing as the whole "people who don't really like music" remark has pissed you right off. And in hindsight I admit it does make me sound like a music snob which I assure you I am not. For fucks sake I like Jamiroquai.
Anyway he goes..
I wouldn't buy the album but can appreciate that they have some catchy melodies which would probably do well in the popular chart. The majority of people driving to work in their cars who aren’t big music fans may like this due to the infectious hooky nature of the songs which will no doubt stay in the head all day. Fair play to the band for getting where they are at such a young age and good luck to them in the future in such a fickle industry.
-
...thinly veiled, but it'll do.
now get back to work.
-
-
-
-
$$$
Are NME up the views arse? Or are sony and 1965 sticking wads of cash under the NME office door??????
-
..
both.
bummers.
-
The View
Well I saw them live and they were pretty good, but it did feel as though the crowd were going mental simply due to the hype built up by various magazine. They have some catchy songs, but I can't help but think they're just another in a long line of libertines-alike bands.
-
I saw them and went to post my opinion but
.. didn't get round to it, couldn't be bothered, didn't see the point, all of the above.
Anyway, i was given a free ticket by a friend who is "getting into music". Not wanting to be rude, i went and told him it was alright. I lied, they sucked, the gig sucked, the people sucked. It was like gig 18-30, or a wanna be libertines band watched by wanna be libertines fans. Which is pretty damn trafic to watch. Anyway it was an awful awful gig.
-
I quite like the View.
They just play their tunes and go. Don't try to be anything hteir not.
-
I don't mind them
But I reckon this time next year everybody will be talking about how much they hate this band.
-
The guitar line
in Wasted Little DJs reminds me of Petrol by Ash.
They do sound like early Ash a bit, but not as good.-
LETS
PUSH. things. forward.
mike skinner at least got that right. i'm so bored of these garage rock bands.
-
absolute
fucking shite...libs obsessives who use babyshambles as the role model. drugs blah blah blah. no tunes. no talent. no future

i really like the view its about time we actually got some decent music which is actually up beat...sorry would you alll prefer to go listen to some shit that justs makes you depressed...maybe you should all DIE!!
I LOVE THE VIEW!!!!
-
HARSH COMMENTS!
I have all of those songs except for typical time, and in my opinion none of them are weak tracks, and there is alot of varietyone betwen the tracks, some are acoustic and some are more punky. Plus they have released two of the best singles of the year, and they are great live and nice blokes, so I can't see why everyone seems to be having a go at them.
-
Thats the problem though...
..I've been listening to nigh on all of these songs for nigh on a year now so why would I go and purchase an album to get the same songs that are barely any different from the demo recordings. I really don't mind The View, and find some of their tracks quite catchy. But the fact that they are being left in these rawest form just cheapens them more. I know you can only work with what you are presented, and when they aren't the greatest in the first place you can't really expect something great. But it just seems shoddy laziness that they aren't even attempting to improve from the original demo's thus far.
