Cardiff's fantastic. It rains a lot certainly, but you can walk everywhere and a pint can be found for less then two bob. To conclude, it's super. Where were we?
Oh yeah, Cardiff is also home to one of best indie discos ever. And that's a fact, right. Said indie disco, Twisted by Design, is capitalising on its, and Cardiff's, aceness by releasing a CD showcasing the best of the Welsh capital's music scene.
This Town Ain't Big Enough For The 22 Of Us features 22 Cardiff bands (did you see, did ya?) including Los Campesinos!, The Loves, Gindrinker and Spencer McGarry Season.
Mr Twisted himself, Gary Anderson, told Drowned in Sound:
"Basically I decided to release the CD as, over the last year, so many amazing bands have sprouted up in Cardiff. Bands which I genuinely really love. Twisted's always has strong links with the local scene and hasn't been scared to play demos regularly at the club nights."
The album features all these lovely Cardiff bands:
Attack+Defend, Victims of Convenience, Gindrinker, Hornby Pylons, Red City, The Days, Threatmantics, Little My, Sweet Baboo, Los Campesinos!, Spencer McGarry Season, Black Hand Laser Band, Silence at Sea, Moauga Last Partisan, The Jan Watkins Band, The Loves, The Wave Pictures, Shake My Hand, Murder by Television, Kutosis and Stray Borders
The tracklisting is a secret though. Ooh. Mysterious.
For more information on the Twisted CD go here. Otherwise we'll come to London and bring the rain.

this is an ace compilation!
first proper Los Camp release too, woo!
hurrah!
it does warm the heart to see this taking off for gary. bless him. i've had some of the best nights out ever at twisted over the last 6 years and this cd will be ace.
the launch gig is on sunday, so it should be on sale from the twisted website next week... go buy!
The first time I met joe_totale was at Twisted
Apologies for anything I said. The memories are quite hazy.
But yes, Cardiff woo! The launch gig will be AMAZING. Is seeing Los Campesinos! 5 times in 4 months a bit excessive? Nope.
Actually, make that 3 months.
I am gayforloscampesinos!
it's going to be brilliant
i will be sick as a dog on monday morning. everyone should be there at 5.00 sharp for little my!
i seem to see one or more of the bands every week lately (sweet baboo tonight at dempseys - are you and monpot coming steph?). i love being here at the moment.
Gary just told me..
that the tracklisting was supposed to be a secret. So everybody pretend you didn;t see that.
See what? etc..
you're fired.
Aww
boo
That's a pretty swish lineup
Sunday will be good. Can someone do my revising so I can go see Sweet Baboo tonight? Please?
bring it with you
steve can weave key learning points seamlessly into his Hits. job done
That is tempting
is his Italian any good?
hmm, not sure
but it's worth a try. have you got a listen & learn tape that can be played between the bands? i'm sure there's a solution...
I could do lots of work now
instead of faffing about on here. That would work
Ah
Spencer McGarry Season rocks.
Sweet Baboo rolls.
Those two bands are worth the CD price alone.
This story has made me miss Cardiff even more...
Gindrinker rule.
I like DC Gates.
gary anderson i am SO over you!
i used to to to twisted when I was in cardiff. On my last night living in the city I went to twisted, and Gary had a t-shirt printed for me with the words "cardiff - I am SO over you". We danced to Andrew WK. *sighs*
Gary Anderson is a legend, if only for playing "come to daddy" on request and for an incredible attention to detail.
Typo
*i used to GO to
....
I second that Gary is Cardiff. He is the heart and soul of that city.
Oh and look thats a picture of Garath. I once gave him a lift back from a Modest Mouse gig in Bristol.
after the launch night
i can officially confirm that the album is great :D
plus, it will retail at a mere £5. and with christmas just around the corner! it's the cadeux du jour!
I second this
I bought 2 and one is winging its way to Chicago as we speak.
