Johnathan Rice returns to the UK

How does one splash on the side of a pond? Suely they must splash in the pond?

What?

Handcuffs?

Oh, okay...

(PS: I think this boy is boring, sorry)

Re: Johnathan Rice returns to the UK

you pedantic fool. there can be two sides to a pond, the left and right, just as there are two sides to a bender. i could argue this but i know i'm wrong so maybe i'll just go and change it.

Re: Johnathan Rice returns to the UK

so if there are 2 sides how can you splash on THE side?
the side implies ON the side

on the side of the pool
or in the left side of the pool

hahahah
please let this thread carry on for days, weeks, ever

Johnathan Rice returns to the UK

He looks very much like Conor Oberst. I've not heard him, what's he like?

Re: Johnathan Rice returns to the UK

I saw him supporting REM and found him pretty dull to be honest. I was hoping for something Oberst-ish but he was closer to Damien Rice. To be fair an outdoor venue playing to 80000 people probably wasn't his ideal setting.

Re: Johnathan Rice returns to the UK

Totally agree. I saw him (indoors) at Cardiff Arena supporting REM.

To be honest it wasn't just that he was dull (although he was); I just didn't hear anything at all unique. Honestly, if you stuck him in a London open mic full of unsigned acoustic acts you wouldn't pick him out as the signed one.

Re: Johnathan Rice returns to the UK

You would pick him out, he's the pretty one. Don't you know why singer-songwriters get signed these days? Its got nothing to do with talent.

Re: Johnathan Rice returns to the UK

Live I thought he did sound quite Bright Eyes-ish. On record: not so much.

I think he's really fucking good.
